Can't say I recognise the car - do share more images when possible. And tell the owner about the Club

Re: Fiat Classic Car Club - Mumbai

Have found a rust bucket 1956(?) model with lots of changes.

Wizened owner not sure about year, says '55 - '56 in the same breath.
He also is also looking to strike it rich.

But before I make an offer, can some good Samaritan point me towards a '55 engine?
Donor can get the 1978 Padmini engine in exchange.

Alternatively, can get the Swiss-cheese like body fixed, shot mechanicals sorted rubber and trim replaced, till the engine is found.

All I might be buying are original papers and almost scrap metal.

Help, suggestions, discouragement welcome. This is going to monumental.

Congrats on your acquisition! Nice car you've got there, one of my favourite colours on fiats.
'suggest you get the quarterglasses refitted and get the sunfilms off. One of my neighbours, an 80 year old Ex-IAF officer, owns a '78 model in the same colour since the early '80s. Still maintains the car (and himself) in top shape!

Here's a pic. of him in his car, yet to get more pics. of the car though!

Re: Fiat Classic Car Club - Mumbai

hi guys!
i am on the lookout for a fiat or a padmini that i plan to restore. I went to CST road(kurla) today hoping to find one but was unsuccessful.
The fiat holds a sentimental value as my father used to drive one, and i hope to restore one and drive it as well. If you guys have any inputs as to where i could source one, as well as places to buy parts etc, do let me know.

Please keep lookout on CLASSIFIEDS section. Recently there were few FIATS (including original DIESEL models) for sale & at quite competitive prices. Here are some links to get you going:

20-25k is what a Fiat fetches in scrap I've heard, if not more, so it's certainly 'safe' to buy one at that price! I'll be selling one of my Padminis (S1), if not both, and will definitely look for around 50k for the 'cheaper' one, or no sale!

Very, very nice Elegant already! The radial tyres being the only eye sore (the missing hub caps and spear/arrow on the front beading aside).

Edit:
What'd she fetch (maybe PM?) Unless that's classified info.

Beauty, Yr Palio now has a senior company.
Just imagine them parked side-by-side and talking CAR movie style and APJ telling Palio about traffic free roads and other nostalgic story & Palio going gaga over modernisation
Wishing you very many & happy FIaTFULL miles.

That is not my car buddy. And I don't have my Palio anymore.

The owner of this car also bought a single owner 1100R recently. I have posted pics of it in this thread.
