Hi Karl, I spotted a lovely Dukkar, BML 8684, Silver over Black yesterday. Is she a known car? Seemed to be in decent shape.

Its a south Bombay car with a period sun shade. Had seen it regularly years ago, but not lately. Probably a Parsi owner.

Re: Fiat Classic Car Club - Mumbai

Last saturday the Parsi Times, an english weekly has carried a full page story on Karl and his love for fiats and all things vintage. BUT, the pictures of Karl and his cars include a Beetle and a couple of standards. Karl how come not with a fiat?? Quotes from Behram , Pheroze Mehta and Rony can also be read. All in all makes for a good read. Rony, the dukkar I think is Parsi owned and parked in a small bungalow on Warden road. Well maintained at least from the outside.

Thanks guys, but to be honest the piece is a tad embarrasing considering the friends I keep, most on this forum, being so much more experienced. I certainly havent worked on 100s of cars - if we count jumpstarting a dead battery then yes, 100s of times.
I had supplied pictures of the Fiats, but they didnt get published unfortunately.

The real Fiat star is Rony, and I passed on his number for interview but he was missed. Bulldogji's cars too would make for a great piece for that matter!

Yes Indeed!

Is "Parsi Times" a recent publication? wasn't there another publication called "Parsianna "or something like that. Is that still alive?

What was the history of that publication?

Hey, whats wrong if someone blows the trumpet for you. You got a nice article, go and enjoy. No controversies here, no need to be embarrassed, we all know you. The article was all about Karl and Fiat's.

But you missed an opportunity to appeal for parking space

Cheers harit

Re: Fiat Classic Car Club - Mumbai

Hi Mole, The Parsi Times is a new paper , a weekly in english . Parsiana is a magazine, also in english, a bi monthly. Karl, Harit is right. Just sit back , bask in the glory and check out if all the matrimonial proposals that are bound to follow, have fiat connections. As for the hundreds of cars story, well journalists are prone to spin stories. IN your case at least they did not say that you were given a fiat by H E Queen Elizabeth.

Re: Fiat Classic Car Club - Mumbai

Sorry to be off topic but any particular reason you are blanking your number plates? I am just curious, would you not want to be identified with your car, especially after such a wonderful restoration????!!!!!

Cheers

Why is that grill fitted in a projected manner. Is it simple aesthetics or to accommidate a bigger radiator?
