Guys, guys, the mystery deepens.
Either this is a different car, or there is some "Jhol" in progress, probably for a film shoot.
The registration number of the one I saw, is (apparently) different.
Behold.. BYH 2998, not 2173.
Both cars have a similar number plate light.
The car I have seen, has a Select/ Super Select rear windscreen.

No Jhol, they are indeed different cars. I only put up 2173 as Anjan remembered the number. Coincidentally they both appear to be movie cars, and therefore red.

Lovely! First car appears to be a President- but is MAS an original regn. for that time (early 70s?) Normally cars of that time were all MRC, MM* etc. right?

Also did both their fiats have the number 1010?

MAS must have been around 1986, we had a high roof van with this series.

Cheers harit

AFAIK, MAS never came on PRESIDENTS but only on PADMINIS. My Uncle had bought a 1985 PADMINI in mumbai with Regn number MAS 5851.

Picture attached for reference.

Nice! That car MAS 1010 definitely looks like a President though, hence my doubt.

I agree, it does look like a President. Must be a re-registered car.

In fact the other one - the Delight too must be re-registered, as the MMB series was mainly on Presidents, AFAIK.

The family seems to have had a liking for "1010". So, special numbers were sought after even then !!

Admire the patience and creativity! I wonder if the engine has also been changed.

It's so eye soaring, another beauty gone waste, why don't people understand they are not doing ANY GOOD apart from wasting their time money thinking their car will stand out amongst others. I feel sad for this beauty.

Re: Fiat Classic Car Club - Mumbai

Hello everyone,
Quite some time back, I had posted images and details of my friend Sandeep's Fiat 1100 (1960) restoration.
After a lot of visits to Mumbai's and Pune's chor / juna bazaars, Sandeep was successful in procuring a lot of original fitments for his car including some original Magneti Marelli packed electrical ancillaries.
For the exterior, Sandeep chose a two colour combination (heavily inspired by Ravi's Fiat). The interior will also be in the similar colour combination.

Here are some images of Sandeep's Fiat -

Hello Amit,
