Got this interesting pic of Fully Modded Padmini from Flickr :
The owner is totally mad, has shown 2 dummy supercharger intakes, one on bonnet & other on rear.
Thinking that this Padmini is running on 2 different engines

I dont think there are any that are available with small headlights, I have scoured the entire market. Heck its difficult to find one with even big headlights.

I would say the center light Dukkar is fast becomming one of the most collectible Fiats as it was in production for only one year. So pick up one even if it does not have small headlights.

According to a supplement from AUTOCAR INDIA, only 900 of these centre light dukkars were made in India.

Which issue is this? I always thought that a 57 Dukkar will be a far more valuable car Globally than say a VW Beetle or the Fiat 500. One of my friends in Italy who owns Fiats tells me that there is such a rage in Italy for the center light Dukkar that car prices have touched almost 11000 Euros for original unrestored cars. He said only if we had Left hand Dukkars here even Dukkars would have been exported out of here like all the lambrettas that we no longer see.

Somewhere in 2007, Autocar India had brought out a special supplement titled "60 year of cars in India". A beautiful book to have, with history of all Indian cars / marques, and invaluable photographs and trivia. Got the info from there. Will scan and post some pages in a relevant thread.

Im sure more than 900 of these cars were made - there are still so many bangers still around, easily a couple hundered in Bombay and Poona alone. Whats rare are good original cars.

Speaking of bangers, here is a 54/56 moralfibre spotted the other day in Pune.

These things give dukkars a bad name How say we round up all the bangers and ship them to Italy, and make some bucks in this economy

Ouch. Amol remember the Dukkar you got from me? That was a banger if there ever was. Aren't you glad you didn't send it to Italy for big bucks?
