where do you get this pic of Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve ??
He is from grandmother's native place, Murud.
I think this pic has been taken there near the school near to the bridge going towards Dapoli.

I am not sure what FCCCI and all friends can do against the proposed ordinance. Unfortunately none of us are politicians, we may certainly know some politicians or the other. But here one has to play politics.
There was an ordinance/court decision in the past to remove old commercial vehicles from Mumbai. And this was done, they started plying beyond Dahisar and Vashi. So that was enforced. All the huge old vintage trucks from the docks, the ABC's and Mercedes, the American beasts were all knocked off.

Then there was an ordinance where all old vehicles were to be re-registered, that is where the BLI series came in. Later this was reversible, if you wanted to, probably at the intervention of WIAA or VCCCI, not sure who did it.

The real sufferers from this notification will be owners of vehicles built before 1989. That will include our Amby's, Fiats and the odd foreign cars, all which are not so collectible though they have a by now larger following. So we do not have a strong lobby. We cannot intervene in the court, it is very expensive. Maybe we can try some PR with news papers, news channels, but how effective is that?

Most of the vintage cars are occasionally used, so there is no real threat to them. One solution would have been to ensure that cars are in sound condition. But RTO fitness tests are not really effective.

I am just wondering what will happen and what can really be done. We are not a lobby group in any way.
