Wolseley

The headlights on the Wolseley don't seem appropriate for that era. I don't think those bumpers belong to that car either.

I could be wrong though (don't know much about these cars)

PS: This reply belongs within the Vintage Rallies and Shows in India thread. Don't know how it got posted independently. Please excuse

Now that you mention it, thats quite possible. However, Ive had this photo of a similar car that was featured in a Classic Car Encyclopedia CD, showing identical fittings. Its quite likely that it is the same car, but I cant quite gurantee it. It appears to be left hand drive, but perhaps the photo was reveresed. The reg of the Bombay car is MGF 3773, cant quite read it in this other photo.

It definitely looks like a reversed photo of the Bbay car- you can make out the 'MGF' bit (mostly hidden by the bumper) reversed.

Wonderful pictures, Karl. I was hopeful, and trying really hard, till the 5th evening of coming over to Pune. But, alas...

Thanks again to you, for sharing the event through your lense!

The Camaro is praise-worthy for being maintained so well in it's original skin.
The Lincoln is radical. Do the Kirloskars still have their Continentals?
The DeSoto is nice, and good to see one of this vintage, and not a Dodge.
I remember this Opel. There also used to be a similar, but dove grey-coloured, Rekord Coupe in Poona. Any idea if that's around too? Remember the Red and Black coupe that Amitabh Bachchan drove like an ATV in Majboor?

I dont know about plural, but they are restoring one Lincoln, featured in primer elsewhere on the forum. It was a 63ish model, 4 door hard top. I dont recall the grey Rekord coupe though. I do remember the Majboor car well!

Here is the Kirloskar Lincoln.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/507754-post170.html

Somewhat old hands from Poona would remember S L Kirloskar's grand 70s black Cadillac that used to stand in the porch of the Blue Diamond hotel. I wonder if they have retained the car.

Nice pics Shreeram. Were these taken at the 93 veedol sponsored rally? I think it was at the Turf club, I was 8 years old! Do post more pics you had taken then. It was the first event I attended.

If you look at the progression of the style of the “dashboard” to “scuttle” behind the bonnet and the radiators I would say the “100 year old “ Wolseley is in fact about 1913/14 not 1908. Wolseleys from 1905-1910 were if fact Wolseley-Siddeleys.
Here’s a lovely old picture of a 1914 Wolseley with a similar scuttle but from the length of the bonnet it looks like a 6 cylinder. Maybe the maroon car is a 4 cylinder 16/20?

Lovely pretty pictures
What are they? What are their names and details and history? I believe that matters here?
We look forward to the essential information.
