Thank you for posting this. What a wonderful collection of Ambassadors! These cars are just so majestic and have such a stately road presence.

@Srinand - as always, your Hindustan 14 looks awesome!
My personal favorite has always been the Mark II Ambassador. The horizontally oval indicators gave the car a wider, more planted feel! (my personal opinion only). Having said that, I might also be influenced by a beautifully maintained Mark II that I grew up seeing - our landlord had one in the house we stayed in for about 13 years.

Really nice to see the pictures. Keep motoring, chaps!

Ambassador meant a Family Member ,not just a car. Such was the emotions attached those days unlike now where you just hop in a showroom and come out in a flashing new car leaving the old one for a exchange bonus. That sort of attachment is unlikely now.

That last picture makes me nostalgic! Kids were always relegated to the “middle” front seat in the Amby taxis.

Ambassador Cars Meet update!

It was a great meet of about 20 Ambassador cars at Hotel Woodlands, B'lore.

I saw couple of white Amby's this morning probably heading for the this meet near Frazer town.
One took off really quick with a smooth engine note from the signal. It looked like a newer model. The one behind was emitting oil smoke from the looks of it.

The Bangalore meet was lovely! Friendly people, lovely cars, venue was spacious, and the discussions were great. Lots of debate about stock vs modified, as usual

For me, the highlight was seeing an amby being manually cranked (Mahesh's). A first for me

Ambassador car owners Bangalore met up today at the Lalbagh Botanical Gardens at 0730. The event was very well organised by Bhpian Arun.V, Bhpian Tonrag (Raghunandan Sir), Suresh Sir, Fazeel and other members.

Today's event witnessed largest gathering of Ambassador cars in recent times. Around 35 cars participated in the meet right from Landmaster, Ambassador cars from Mark1 till the last of the Grand models. My Premier Padmini was the guest car.

Such beauties! My cousin dismantled my Uncle's Ambassador into pieces and sold it as scrap. They did the same with my Uncle's 1990 Bullet. Ambi was initially mated to a Matador engine and later to an Isuzu engine.

Thanks Arun. Great memories of when I used to help our garage mechanic maintain a 1965 Mark 2 MYX 3440 and and a 1972 Mark 2 estate. I still hope to see the former on the road - it was sold from Hubli to someone in Bangalore in the early 80s.
