The Morris 8 is an AP regn. But I got the car from Kolkata |
IIRC, its an APQ regn. (which would mean Kurnool dist.)
:OT Were you able to get more info. on MSP 3331, as you had mentioned earlier? I'd spoken to my uncle in Madras that evening again, and apart from reconfirming the regn., he recalled having last seen the car with our family until June 1964. Couldnt remember to whom it was sold though.

Stanher, did your Austin participate at the Chowmohalla event in 2009? or you no longer have the car with you? |
Um, sorry but I DO NOT own the Austin in question, nor any Austin for that matter! Never did so far! :)
Saw this old lady in Bangalore almost a month back. Not sure of the model though. Sorry my knowledge about vintage cars is very limited.

The clubman pic. looks rather creepy with the "missing" head!! :uncontrol
The golfs I reckon are at a garage on the right (as you go towards picket) near Jubilee Bus stn. at Sec'bad? The place is always full of VW golfs!

Looks like it ended up pretty well, except for the chromed radiator shell which should have been painted actually. This is an Austin 10. Pity it appears to have lost its original Lucas side marker lamps on the fenders.
An interesting thing about this model car is the hinged rear license plate. The idea is that if you have big items to carry in the boot you can do so by keeping the boot door open, when this happens the license plate swings on the hinge so thatit is still visible under the open boot door.
Anyidea what is that sedan car being worked on in front of the Austin, looks like a Morris 8 Sedan ? |
Wasif bhai, the sedan next to Austin is a Ford belonged to Lallu bhai/Laddu bhai, its parked at Jahangir bhai Denter's workshop near Santoshnagar...The Austin 10 Tourer belongs to Jubilee Motors. cheers!
Where is this place that is full with Golfs man
I would like to know details if any please....
Many thanks for your help in advance folks :D
Spotted this near Yercaud - TN. Which car is it exactly?

Karthik this a 1959-60 Chevrolet Impala. Most probably a 6 cylinder as they were more common in India. Car seems to be in good shape. These cars were favorites as wedding cars where the roofs were chopped and sported diesel engines.
Cheers

This is a 1959-only Chevy, identified by the "eyebrows" over the headlights:

And doubt if its an Impala, going by the side-trim design. The badge on the side fenders is not legible but could be BisCayne or Bel-Air.
Thats right, its a 1959 with rear Cat's eyes lens. If im not mistaken, MSW 4555 was chopped and here one sees it with the top on, so if it is the same car, then Kudos to the guy who undertook restoration, though hes a long way from there but at least its started. Impala or Belair??!!

Looking at the badge again, I would conclude it says BEL-AIR! :)
The blue MG-lookalike is more likely the Malaysian TD2000, a MG TD-based replicar.
