Austin 8

This nice Austin 8 is regularly seen parked in the compound of an ancient house at Tardeo, Mumbai. The house is as pretty looking as the car.

Dear Mr. Jatti,

Great find, great car. Wonder if no one else noticed One more for the muscle fraternity.
Please tell the history.
There is a similar 4 door car in Mumbai, and I had seen one in Delhi too.

Cheers harit

Chevy

Chevrolet

I have seen this Chevy parked at the same spot for the past 20 years , till a few years ago they were 2 of them. It does look that it is in running condition as the tyres have air and the interiors looked pretty okay.

Excuse the quality of the pic.

lovely pic. This reminds me of a home for the aged, a young child visiting his grandparents, Auburn, Pierce, Caddy, Buick etc.

Dear Jatti Saab, great find and a huge congrats for your recent acquisition. As can be seen it is a Bombay car. I remember almost 15 years ago it used to be parked at Juhu outside a bungalow below a huge tree for a long time. The spot where you take a left towards the main road leading to Amitabh Bacchan's (Old house.....i think the road is called Guru Nanak Marg or something like that). I had gone there to see it with a friend of mine to make an offer but we were informed that it was not for sale. Somewhere within 5-6 months, it disappeared and we were informed that it was sold for peanuts (the price prevailing then for such beauties) to the owners friend, . It is great to know that it wil be under your good care and that it is in the same condition and same colour. Maybe you can tell us if the colour is original or it has been repainted.

Congrats once again.

Waiting to hear the story Jatti Saab.

V-16 Dude if i remember correctly there were some small buildings when you took the left after you past the Lotus eye hospital on the right then the left.

I remember seeing quite a few of these classics in some bungalows behind Juhu Gym. Don't know what the scene is now.
Been a very long time now since i then, roads that used to be a daily route.

Ah that Fleetmaster is parked at aminabad for a very long time. Though it gets shifted frequently rather relocated on the same spot so tyres seem good. Actually, all the efforts to acquire it have failed as the family to which it belongs neither wants to sell it nor to get it repaired. I don't think there were 2 of them, few years back it was accompanied by an old white amby though as i too see that car regularly for the past 15 yrs.

No I am certain that they were 2 of them , at least for some time , my house is very close to the place where it is parked.
This car has steadily deteriorated over the last few years and i wonder till what time it can survive.

This car and house are apparently quite popular, even on team bhp
A real sad story behind them:

The car's deteriorated quite a bit since the last time it was posted here! Sadly being scavenged day by day by miscreants and vandals by the looks of it!

Time takes its toll.. Even the Hillman seems to have developed a sinister expression on its face. Reminds me of the face straight out of the movie "Christine" by Stephen King.
