Passion does not come only if you want to buy a car it is there otherwise too, you know. Quote:

Thats the difference between a collector and an enthusiast. He did what he did seeing the value of the car or the value it would fetch and not for the love of it. I am doing it for the love of it and not the value involved. So if that means spending a little extra later on i am ok with it. See the difference. Quote:

So how come you did not send someone to clean and wash the car? Preaching and prescribing is simple doing is harder right. Quote:

Thats cause he was sending his guy there everyday to make sure nothing got stolen from the car and not to literally clean it. Protecting his future investment was in mind. An enthusast would say let anything go from the car and i will bring it back to its original glory at all costs. Quote:

So this guy would come over once in two months, wash the car, fill air in its tires and then sit for a cup of tea with the owner.
He started this routine in 1989 and believe me he is still doing the same today. The lady has still not sold him the car and it has not left that garage in 28 years now.
This is dedication and passion for a car and all it is a single owner MGB convertible. |
I dont know the owners as friends and yes if it were my friends cars i dont ask them i send people over to clean and service the car and take it for drives too. Filling the tank to full even if i am going to drive it for 1kms, with no intension of even buying the car now or in the future. Thats the difference, i dont make friends with people for their cars or with any other motive in mind. 28 years the car is with the same lady and in the same place and this person still goes to clean it knowing one day it will be his. I call it being selfish on the persons side and not love or passion for the car or care for the lady in any way.
So tell me what have you done, cause all you are doing is giving others examples. I atleast pick up cars that i have seen with the sole intention of getting them to their former glory and to see them drive the streets once again and nothing else. Quote:

You did suggest. So if you had passion for the cars you would have sent someone down to have it cleaned instead of asking someone else to do it. There is a saying you should always put your money where the mouth is and i see you like useing this proverb loosely. So you should ask others to do only what you can do. Cheers.
