well the gray car in question is a late 60s early 70s volkswagen type 3...sharing many components with the beetle...(type 1 was the beetle, type 2 was the van)
the more popular bodystyles in india were the saloon and stationwagon type 3 called the "variant"

this 2 door has a sporty "fastback" bodystyle, and were relatively uncommon in india....infact this is the first im seeing!

Ah, happy memories, my parents had a type 3 variant (station wagon) for 7 years and did over 100000 miles in it. Never broke down except for a fuel pump airlock in Germany due to hot weather + heavy load

Accidental purchase, my dad went out to buy an austin 1100 but the dealer + maufacturer gave "attitude", this "then" oddball (world war two emotions) was available for a good deal which my dad snapped up!

It looks like a Dodge Coronet to me. If it has a V8 under the hood, lets hope its the 440 cu.in. or the 426 Hemi.

Tarmat is a co. owned by the Varghese family (brothers), thay have a good collection of vintage cars in their Bandra residence. One of the brothers (popularly known as babloo) has a few vintage bikes too. They are parked in a lane between Popley Jewellers and Bhabha Hospital in Bandra (W), you can see them while passing by.

These pictures were taken at a vintage car rally a few years ago. Since this was a public event and many magazines published pictures of the event I am not blanking out the number plates
