Fleetings glimpses of a nice Morris Minor Tiger here

Morris Days - a set on Flickr

This Jaipur collection I think belongs to Speedy's uncle.

These cars I think are part of a Jaipur heritage property.

See the first link in my post. I have only put the link, not the pictures.

It could be the 1941 Packard 110 they have. The collection belongs to a very well known jeweller family in Jaipur, the Kasliwals.

The Packard and the Merc are featured in the Cartier thread

A 1962 Chevrolet Impala. I spotted it in a garage near Linkaragapuram @ B'loer. The workshop man didn't revealed more details, anyway its well restored & kept well.

I think this was an SS in Diljeet Titus's collection, it bears his insignia/crest on the door. Possibly sold?

This style of spoked wheels are pretty common in classics in the North. I believe they are made there.

Yes, good observation we expect nothing less from you, Super Sleuth Karl. Prior to DT, this car stood at that large farm with all the old cars in Delhi (forget the name of that thread, My uncle's farm... or something similar) with the chopped W123, destroyed-before-auction modern Caddy (ex-American Embassy), Lambrettas, etc in the pix. The previous owner runs a large Optho (glasses) outfit and is believed to finance many of the acquisitions and restoration of the stuff at that place.

Regarding the wired wheels (like the ring of these words), yes there's a profusion of their usage in Delhi. let's see if it's a little subdued this season, as many of the 'collectors' settle in with the identity. The bells and whistles bring in popularity and the bucks when selling, my friend. Purveyors of originality have fewer admirers, so much so that within a fraternity where generally everybody is considered a litlle touched by the world outside, the originality-fiends are considered mad!!

The Chevy SS was first restored in black colour with red seats. Looked super, I felt; very Gene Hackman FBIish, easy going but could be mean and purposeful when the call came. But then metallic paint sparkles, shinier is better than gleaming! Boy, I need to go visit a shrink!

This Chevrolet is parked inside the Pashankar GM showroom on the bypass. I was told it belongs to the Pashankars. Seems to be well restored, apart from the garish metallic colour scheme.

Quite an uncommon car amongst others we see of the period, what say? I think this car was being restored at Davis' at Nagar road. A friend had sent me a picture of another car there, and something of this size and colour was visible in the back. Always wondered what it was.

Is this a V8 or a 6 cylinder impala?

I wonder if they were originally dealers for Cadbury's Chocolates, going by the colour scheme??

Fortunately or unfortunately the car itself isnt made of chocolate!

What a great job, superb finish, good detailing, great presence, and the this colour scheme
It is the owner who can do what he wants with the car, but when these are seen in public, we can definitely comment.
There seems to be a trend to paint vintages and classics in garish metallic shades, perhaps to more noticable. Each to his own, in my opinion the result is actually a bit of a wasted effort.

Well I immediately thought of the movie "Dick Tracy" It had these amazing thirties cars painted in the most unusual shades.
