Here are pictures of a stunning late fifties Merc 300 in India. The ivory 300 should be early fifties (51 0r 52). I have limited knowledge of Mercs:) Enjoy the pics
thanks for posting the pic DKG this is the one i was talking of,just couldnt remember its black or dark blue
This is indeed a later example, a design I never cared much for somehow. Styling is a bit too fussy for me.
The ivory car is probably 55-56. A friend has a similar example, a 56, purchased new. They were nicknamed Adenauer after the erstwhile Mayor of Berlin who used one.
The Singhania family has a similar cabriolet, that used to be in Pune for ages with the mechanic and then at their bungalow, making for quite a sight to see, standing majestically in the drive way of the equally majestic J K House. Would occassionally see her on the road, and at a few Pune rallies. She was a neat light blue back then.
The car is now a regular at Bombay events, albeit in a much harsher deep red.
Hyderabad had a lovely green RHD 300 convertible sedan, now in the Sanghi collection.
Mr Bhogilal has two - both look complete but the paintwork........
In the late 80's, there was one in Bangalore - parked in the very space where that grey Ferrari is or at least that TN BMW 5 series

Was it green too? If so its the Hyderabad car which was in Bangalore for a while and from there to Indore.
Great pics, guys!! But my favourite has to be the 300S two-door cabriolet..... one of the most beautiful Mercs. Isnt there one in India? I remember it being featured in an article....

Yes sir that's the one. APY 10 was bought new by Raja Rameshwar Rao of Wanaparthy samasthan in the erstwhile Hyderabad state.
WOW! Mercs of this period are truly a work of art! But sadly, they lost the plot in the "heckflosse" era!

And the same one that sat in Bangalore, doing nothing - not even a polish! I would have bought but I had yet to start work!
