According to the registration, it is more than 65 years old. However, it has a modern number plate and a very recent series. Can any expert please tell me how that is possible? Most of the classics still have the original white on black plates.

The reason for some old cars having new series numbers is because it has been newly registered in that state from some other state.Legally all private vehicles in INDIA should be having Black on white plates post 2001. Classics and vintages also have the same type plate only

There were three series this time. The Master 85, Chevy's price leader, retained the I-beam front axle and was characterized by a relatively spartan level of trim. Next up was the Master DeLuxe, featuring independent front suspension and better trim.

The third series, new this year, was the Special Deluxe. More sumptuously appointed than any previous Chevrolet, it was distinguished by stainless steel hood and beltline trim along with such amenities as dual wipers, dual air horns, a 30-hour dashboard clock, and a deluxe steering wheel with horn ring. Perhaps surprisingly, the newcomer proved to be, by a wide margin, Chevy's best-seller.

Here is a 1949-50 Ford Custom Four Door Sedan

The 1949 Ford was an American automobile produced by Ford. It was the first all-new automobile design introduced by the Big Three after World War II, civilian production having been suspended during the war, and the 1946-1948 models from Ford, GM, and Chrysler being updates of their pre-war models. Popularly called the "Shoebox Ford" for its slab-sided, "ponton" design, the 1949 Ford is credited both with saving Ford and ushering in modern streamlined car design with changes such as integrated fenders and more. This design would continue through the 1951 model year, with an updated design offered in 1952.

After sticking with its well-received previous model through model year 1948, Ford completely redesigned its namesake car for the year 1949. Save for its drive-train, this was an all-new car in every way, with a modern ladder frame now supporting a coil spring independent suspension in front and longitudinal semi-elliptical springs in back. The engine was moved forward to make more room in the passenger compartment and the antiquated "torque tube" was replaced by a modern drive shaft.
