Stage 2.
According to the mechanic working on the car, the owner has four more Austins, excluding this.
Pics and info thanks to my friend Santhosh.

No not at all Morris 8. Its an Austin 8.
Morris 8 and not an Austin 8 and if he badges it as an Austin 8 he could be working on a make shift Grill to claim as an Austin 8!
Attaching images of both cars and typing on to get in twenty words to be able to post!
Please also check out these pictures.
(1) The engine bay, where beside the battery compartment, there are convex surfaces on either sides of the Austin 8.
(2) The rear windscreen of the Austin 8 is rectangular with smooth edges and is a simple, straight design, whereas that of the Morris 8 has very rounded borders especially on the upper part.
There are several other distinguishing factors which I need not elaborate, but the pictures will speak !

We had these cars in our joint family owned by my grandfather and granduncles and my first ride was the Austin 8.clap:

the green car being restored is a Morris Eight Series "E". unless its a heavily modified Austin, made to look like a Morris.
most of the pictures above are also of the Morris.
Austins had their meters in front of the driver since the late 1930s, Morris had them in the center till at least the 1950s. Austin boots were bottom hinged and became a platform for extra luggage when opened, Morris boots were top hinged. Austins had their fuel filler on the left side, Morris on the right.

I beg to disagree. That is an Austin 8 in the pictures that were discussed. Here I have posted both Morris 8 and Austin 8 photos for comparison yesterday.

Yes, true what's in a name ?
After I or even if someone else says something is A or B its immaterial for the respective member personally.

Agree or disagree, I think the forum should not be misled.
Like I said in an earlier post, im talking about the green car. We may be talking about two different cars.
I'm no expert but wouldn't looking at the grille and the fenders be enough to conclude this is a morris 8 ?
