Hi,
this is a mercury BUT unfortunately with a diesel engine, earlier was dark blue in color and was stabbled next to Begumpet flyover, now bought by some one else and redone , but still needs an engine change

Its actually a 51 Mercury Sports Sedan that was with a friends father, like Mohammed Bhai mentioned it was running a Diesel, the original petrol V8 was unfortunately not retaind.
This car has an identical body to the 51 Lincon Sports Sedan that I owned way back.
Interestingly this is the exact same model that was rodded by James Dean and became a favourite of the pack for customisation.
Few years back I have seen, there was one blue colour Mercury car or similar car, seen near Niloufer hospital, owned by person who is regular in the Hyderabad vintage car rallies with black Morris ADY .. and he also have Matchless Motorcycle. This blue car does not have petrol engine and also missing gearbox at that time. Now I don't know, what is status.
Cheers!

Is this by any chance located in Amirpet and belongs to a person who owns an LHD jeep too? If its the same car then is a 1951-52 side valve 800cc
A Herald and Beetle here. The bike is presumably a Jawa:
Found this one on Jawa/Yezdi Club, FB.

How can you say that it has the OHV engine?
I fully agree that this is the Morris Minor series M which came from October 1950,but it continued to have the side valve engine till August 1952 when it was replaced by the A series(From AustinA-30) engine.OHV engine was first fitted to export 4 door cars.2 door saloon and tourer continued to have side valve engine till February1953.From Chassis number180001 all models were fitted with OHVengine. This was the803cc engine.

Because I know a friend in Hyderabad who owns an exact similar car down to the tires so I thought this might be it

neither vintage nor classic.... not yet anyway...
A Jaguar Mk IV, Plymouth, 170 V, S, Citroen, Riley, Chevrolet Parkwood & Chrysler.
Hi Rolling Art - Some really old snaps. These cars have today changed many a hand and survive. Few have been scrapped like the 170 V small image a ex Ujjain car all diesel sprayed to look fresh and clean and in really desperate state
The park wood has been pulled out and landed in Mumbai. The Jaguar is if not mistaken in Delhi currently and changed colors. The Variant in Bangalore via delhi and the Plymouth has also deteriorated further and Dieselised with a roof rack. I will have to go and see each again and co relate.
Nice snaps anyways for records
Cheers

Pics of the same Valiant, Plymouth and Chrysler were being dished out by a broker sometime back who claimed that the cars were for sale. Pics of Haritji's Dodge Custom Royal, as we know, was also included by the broker:D
