I think that you are right, but he has cleared the pillars in the background. And there are nice shots of other cars when you explore that site, many nice cars from a different perspective.
The Lancia still looks gorgeous.

Taking a car to PB is no joke. Preparations are expensive, extensive, then this is a car which evolved over time being largely home built, don't know which category would fit, and I would have to sell it to raise funds to take her there. That's also no joke either!!

Cheers harit

In the latest issue of Auto India there is an article by a very early pioneering racing car driver Ramachandra Arni. There are old pictures in the article, and guess what, my Lancia is there too. This is the second old photo which I have found of the Lancia, and in both cases in print media. There must be more photos somewhere.

An image appeared in the latest of time out of a lone surviving agiary in an old part of mumbai. And appears so correct to the period with a period car also an Austin neatly parked. So apt

Cheers

Re: Pics: Vintage & Classic cars in India

Was going through the Taj Ambassador website to make a booking when I came across this image of a beautifully restored buick and a corvette. Apparently both are owned by the hotel.

Not really. The Chrysler belongs to a Delhi collector, the Corvette is with him but belongs to a Maharaja.

What i was told is the Corvette and a MG TC were bought from the Maharaja years ago. The same Maharaja has 2 more cars with him, a classic and a vintage.

Hi speedy, long time no hear
My understanding was that Corvette was not sold, it seems to be an open secret, and when displayed you normally don't see a name.
This Maharaja lives 7 minutes away from where I used to live, the Corvette used to be regularly excercised by his driver who used to wear a sort of "Beret" like cap. That Maharaja did not have an MG, to the best of my knowledge. There are more than 2 cars other with him, he had two 1959 Plymouth station wagons, a Caddy, Pontiac, maybe a Daimler, and probably more.

Cheers harit
