Seems to have deteriorated in a fairly short period of time, no? I mean the broken center of the steering wheel and the doesn't look as if it were well looked after either. I'm comparing to the photos of the car when it was restored by the Ghosh's.

My cousin sister in law's parents in Pune had imported an Oxford blue Chevrolet Fleetmaster Cabrio around 1947. The car was in Pune till it was in use. The canvas canopy was beige and had chrome plated frame to support, as I remember seeing it during it hey days till the late 1970's. It had white wall tyres and looked awesome.This was very much a Pune car.
I tried to cross check about two years back with harit about its present day whereabouts, but he was unaware. But he confirmed that these were few and were imported by the buyers and not sold commonly in GM showrooms.

Interesting cars. Oldsmobile and Chrysler both possibly belonging to Nitin Dossa, and a maruti 800 in the background. They should have avoided the maruti in the frame for a more authentic period shot.

Maybe they will edit that Maruti out of the scene later. That Chrysler is an Airflow, probably one of only two left in India, the other being with Pranlal. This car resided at Worli Seaface, bought by Nitin, restored by Manvendra, and then sold on to a friend of mine from Dadar.

The Olds is a common sight in VCCCI rallies and was also featured in Munnabhai MBBS.
As regards the Maruti 800 (if edited its better) , these chaps try to use the Hollywood influence but get caught somewhere or the other.

Wow an Airflow. The black colour makes the car more appealing than the peacock coloured Airflow in the museum. Hope it comes to the Mumbai rally next time so that all of us could see some good pictures of it. Harit, can you get your friend to send you pictures for posting here, for the benefit of all us ?
