That is a Triumph Renown Razor Edge Sedan ...its the elder brother of the Mayflower and the triumph Roadster.

This particular car belongs to the Agarwal family who are keen car collectors in Hyd. I think he also has a black Triumph Roadster and a Mayflower too

Your pictures of the elegant Buick Roadmaster are of a 1939 model, not the 1935 you have listed.

Spotted this convertible the other day !

Yes, I owned it from the early to mid nineties, I sort of learnt on this car. Originally this was a Kanpur car owned by one Mr Gupta, it was in a derelict state, and was bought and got to Delhi by Mr. Appasaheb Alur through a dealer, another Mr. Gupta. He got it up and running and photos can be found on the forum amongst the early Delhi rallies, in his ownership the car changed many colours, and when I got it in 1994 it was cream and brown. I totally stripped and rebuilt it, and painted it the current colour combination, which was very unorthodox at the time. Hardly any trim on the car is original, only the headlamp shells, door handles, front bumper and one windshield pillar is original, i fabricated everything else, the badge from the radiator was copied and put on hub caps made from 'tawas' the carburation is also modified, from updraught to downdraught, plus other many modifications. If it were original I wouldn't have sold it. It was a nice reliable car to drive, and I have even raced it against Padminis and Ambassadors at the time. It very rare though, only 90 odd made with this body, should have a rear windshield which was always missing and its not a 1932, though it says so in the book, it a rare 1931 1/2 CM6 dual windshield phaeton.

After Awini this car came into the possesion of Uday Kasliwal, coincidently a college mate of mine who is sadly no more. He had a lot of cars in Delhi and around, and his convertible Study Commander also landed up in Mumbai. As there are two, you have to guess which is meant.:D
I met Uday after more than 10 years after college at a Statesman Rally in Delhi where he himself drove this car and I have pictures of this car taken at that time.

Cheers harit

Harit bhai I sold the car directly to the Sable family in Pune through Bhalerao, who approached me for it. Uday drove it in the Statesman rally in 1995 because I had entered two cars and was driving the Studebaker, Uday never owned this car.
