It does appear to be. The horn button was shared with the 600 too. The sidelights are from a 50s english car.

Is it in Kerala??
There were a lot of such renaults in kerala since the health dept had a lot of them. This particular example was also part of their fleet. The problem with such cars are that every ounce of their life is sucked out before they are auctioned off.

A Fiat 500 Nuova which was rusting in Pieces till my friend rescued it just a week ago, so although it did originally belong here, now thankfully it does'nt
It has all original fittings and has done only 20K kms. Of course we picked it up as soon as we heard about it and its already stripped & being done up completely.
Here are some pics when we went to first see it.... (and picked it up that very moment)
The rear tail lamp lens was found intact in the car. Its only missing the front parking lens

Fantastic! 67bug will be quite pleased to see this car. Methinks the front parking lights are common to 58-64 1100s, so lenses wont be a problem to procure.

Does the car need a horn button?

Its got everything intact. Actually my friend was offered this car by his friend who owns it. After sitting on it for a whole month he tells me. In the meanwhile a week before my friend told me another broker shows me the car and cannot fix a meeting with the owner. One day my friend and me are on a drive to the area where this car was and he drives in to the building and says " i meant to show this car to you and wanted advise if this was worth buying as a first in the collection".... I at once told him to drive to the owner as dealers had got whiff of the car and it was not soon before it would get picked up.
After I negotiated the car and got it to the garage, i told my friend that i too had seen the car and had i met the owner, i would have bought it that day.
My friend, being the decent gentleman that he is tried to offer it to me saying that anyways he did not know about what work is to be done etc etc. and i would be a good owner, blah, blah. This really touched me (Good friends are hard to find). Ethically i could not claim the car and anyways we were going to supervise and carry out the restoration anyways. He was always realy keen to own a Fiat 500 especially and now hes got it.
Karl, Kiran, you have met him. He also owns the Diesel Golf. He came with me to pune too.
Im going to take pics tomorrow and will start a new thread on his behalf. I have also convinced him to join team-bhp. After all we enthusiasts belong together.

Wish him all the best for the resto. What is the exact year of manufacture?

Incidentally, I know 2 more people who bought a nuova 500 last week. And everytime I heard of one I thought that it must be a relatively rare sight in India. Little do I know.

JayD, interestingly every rusting classic you come across happens to be in a very lovely natural locale, greenery etc. all around...
