Can you help by identifying this car?

Here are a few snaps of one that I saw near a Police Station. Could someone help by identifying this car?

Suren, glad to see these pics. online atlast!

As for the unknown station-wagon, I rule out the possibility of it being an American car......its definitely a European or Russain one & seems to be from the late 50s......'wonder if we could also put the pics. in the "Guess the car" thread...
I'm sure we could as always count on ram to identify a car like this one!

I think the station ago is a 50's chevy nomad. Maybe 55, but the rear fins seem too small for that though.

Nope jayD, its definitely not a nomad...the side & rear profile is totally different from the nomads':

Even i have my doubts regarding the rear, but the windscreen and the overall roofline looks like one though.

VW Variant Story.

Hi Guys, the car in the picture belongs to me.This car was bought from Conoor near Ooty .I didnt see the car before I bought it, a friend of mine told me about the car .He said the car is in bad shape and could be used as a parts car.I ended up buying it without seeing it.Then came the problem of transporting the car from Conoor to Kochin.I was thinking of bringing it down by truck but my friend was very confident he could drive it down to Kochi.Mind you this car was lying idle in the back of a workshop for eight years. This brave guy drove it down with minor trouble. The charging system and the brakes gave problems on the way but my man kept on going and she arrived in Kochi. When I saw the car I fell in love with it and decided to restore it.Parts being rounded up from ebay and thesamba.com.Body tinkering is almost over .I am yet to locate a dash pad for the car.RHD dash pads are difficult to come by(any help would be appreciated).
A little about about the history of the car. This car was bought down to India during the early 60 's by the Indo- German project based in Conoor in Nilagiri dist of Tamilnadu. This is a 1964 type 3 Notchback. The Indo- German project was joint venture between India and Germany to prmote various agricultural farming methods in the Nilgiris. The primary aim was to study some diseases affecting potato farming in Nilgiris. They had brought down a lot VW's ie beetles, variants and baywindows, panelvans etc. These cars were allowed duty free import and were not charged any road tax.Now the project is almost defunct and all the cars are in private hands.Thats were my car came from.
Please do contact me if u have any info on parts and other details that would help me with the restoration.
...Regards to all the air heads out there...Lets keep these beauties rolling
Peeve cheers:
