I don't have the permissions to PM. Owner is not willing to sell the Bike when I checked few years back. As far as I know, It is a single owner bike.

Is it hard to get the spares?

Not impossible. Looks to be a largely intact bike. There are good mechanics who specialize in old british bikes and they can help. Anyway thanks for the reply.

One such specialist mechanic in Trivandrum is Mr. Anil Titus he has his work place in Karamana Trivandrum. Check with him.

But then again its pointless if the current owner doesn't want to recondition it or sell it.

Best Regards & Ride Safe

Ram

Hi Suhas,
This is inside the bunglow at Prime street, Richmond town right? I live there and have been seeing this for some years together now. I would like to rescue this one if the owner is willing but never had the courage to go and ask.

Oh, hi neighbour!

Once you do build up the courage, you could meet the old man who I have seen in the courtyard on occasion - usually on Saturday / Sunday mornings.

I have seen another classic car parked in an apartment close by, and it desperately needs attention. I think that one is a Standard Herald.

Hello neighbour

Actually I thought the house was also kind of abandoned. Rarely do I see any lights switched on even at the night. Hats off to the old man for living a conservative life right at the heart of the city.

This is the first time I get to read the registration number of the car clearly. Its not easily readable from the road. Just checked the details in RTO app and it says the fitness expired 49 years ago. And, the details say that it is a 1956 Standard Companion where as this car is actually a Standard 10.

This post is to respond the original post from September 2019. Hello Cheetan, this was clicked by me. There are 2 trucks lying in the Ooty Horticulture department, next to the Botanical Garden (Behind the Government parking).

They are going to auction these. Any one can walk up to to manager and ask for more details.

Have been seeing it rotting away for years now. It sits tucked away in a corner within the compounds of Basanti Devi College, Kolkata.

The car and background eerily make it appear like its in Cuba!

Sad nevertheless. May be restorable still.

Yes it's a 10, or Super 10.
The regn. is a Delhi one (could make it out as DIC- yes only those 3 letters! ), so unfortunately it looks like it can never be renewed again, thanks to the NGT rule in Delhi! Maybe that's why the car is not being driven and he's probably just retaining it for sentimental reasons.
