Wasif going through Google I found this photo in following link. http://iowahawk.typepad.com/bolus/20...y-of-ph.html.( Picture 9. Buick 1928 Model USD 20,000/-). It resembles very much with the car in question. The wheel rim, the door hinges and overall the body shell has lot of similarities. But I am not the final authority to make verdict and looking for the veterans of Team BHP for their final comment.

Can anybody reveal its identity? I am dreaming to convert it into a hot rod using mechanical s of Mahindra Commander Jeep. http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/images...s/Clapping.gif

So what's the update ? Any more pics to share ? Does it have any history as to how the car came about lying in such a state

Cheers

As told earlier yesterday again I had an opportunity to visit the car once again. Now the established fact is that the car is 1929 Buick. This time I met an another mechanic who is in his fifties. He told that this Buick car is standstill since his childhood.. "SIR ISE TO MAIN TABSE AISE HI KHARA DEKH RAHA HOON JABSE MAINE HOSH SAMBHALA HAI". By his version it is in this very much position for more than Fifty years. The car is parked in covered space that's why it is somehow protected by nature. Earlier the car was maintained by his Grand father who was the family mechanic of the present owner. Yes the present owner is very much there who has got this car in legacy. For last ten years he is planning to take this car to Delhi for restoration but somehow he couldn't manage the time. Meanwhile he visited Kathmandu by his Bajaj Super!!! I had not the opportunity to meet the gentleman as he is a practicing lawyer and had gone to court. I asked the mechanic to discuss with the owner for selling the car and if it is not possible than I will certainly help him for restoration with help of veterans of Team BHP. BTW how much I should offer him? The car papers can be traced or duplicate owner book can be procured from the local transport office (Being an advocate's car these are easy procedures) This time picture snapping was more difficult as the car was jam packed with other cars rather one accidental car which has blocked its access. So you will find the attached picture more disappointing from my previous post. But the good thing is that present owner has lot of older photos of car of its golden era.

Can spot a white Fiat in picture number 6. Isn't it?

http://iowahawk.typepad.com/bolus/20...ory-of-ph.html

Bay Area has another Fiat, apart from Jay Leno's?

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

Found these two at a local garage. Have been seeing the Morris sitting there for the last few years. Unfortunately took the pic. from outside as I was in traffic then, hence the lack of clarity.

Spotted in Sarai Kale Khan, Delhi. 1985 Volvo 240 GL, seemed to be recently (relatively) abandoned.

Whoa- I *vaguely* remember seeing this! MAF is a Pune number- 1985ish. The taillamps look like Suzuki Alto SS80 units. Thingy looks like a jugaad- or a mod job, but I'm not totally sure.

Where did you see this one?

That is a Mahindra, the n stands for Nicholas industries. They made FRP stuff for Mahindra SUV's. Check this thread-

This looks like an abandoned car / shell which is lying in one of the Banaswadi / old Bypanahalli lanes in Bangalore. I guess it is a Hindustan 14 - now too far gone for repairs.

It's never too late for any restoration- Said a certain wise man.

'Tis indeed a Hindustan 14/Morris Oxford MO. Has been discussed here, previously:

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

A dead 1948 Hillman Minx in Calcutta ('prefer to spell/pronounce it that way, sorry! ) clicked by Souryadeep Mukherjee, a young enthusiast, who shared them with me on whatsapp.
Incidentally, the same car was photographed once earlier by our fellow tbhpian Dr. Anjan.

Seems to've reached the point of no return (nee resurrection!)
