To best of my knowledge, this is not the workshop of Avelar. He has a Skoda dealership and has few pristine VW's with him.

If I hadn't known about this uno based replica I would have thought it was a beetle. He had shown me this project last year when I showed him my golf. both the golfs/rabbits there have slowly rotted to the ground over the past 5+ years, being a 2 door it's a real shame that this is happening( forget the part about a beetle being replicated because our import rules are so bad, It's ridiculous that the most sold car in the world is sold here at a premium and even replicated!!)

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

An old Premier Padmini spotted in Delhi during my trip last week. The registration is DIA or DIB as was visible in its rear number plate and should be then from the early 1980's.

I had bumped into this car couple of years back. The owner cum garage owner has major attitude. He told me the car is in such good shape that just a wash will make it brand new. Obviously he cares a damn bout it; or who would stock old crap on top of a fine fintail Merc? Sad to see it is in exactly the same condition i last saw it in. I called him couple of times for it then he stopped receiving my calls.

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

I found this lying in a garage in small town of Jharkhand. Sorry for the poor quality of photos as they are taken from my Cell camera. Parts are shattered but can be traced in the garage itself. Asked the mechanic concerned about the history.Replied he can't recollect the details and only knew that it is an "English" Car. He offered me to sell this without any documents. Can anybody reveal its identity? I am dreaming to convert it into a hot rod using mechanical s of Mahindra Commander Jeep. http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/images...s/Clapping.gif

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

Hi Kasli. I tried to locate the Grill, Meter or steering wheel but in vain. I was in hurry so snapped few shots and has brief interaction with the mechanic and went away. I will make it point to discover these things in my next visit.

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

Is it a Cadillac as mentioned in another post? The design on the fender and the body seems similar.

May be absolutely and compete wrong of course

You may be right with the similarities with fender. But in this case door hinges are visible and wheels are not spoke type.Your interest has compelled me to once again visit the car in very near future. (May be tomorrow...)

This looks more like 1929-30 period Buick, a few more pictures will settle the issue. If its so, then a good restoration will make ot a GRAND CAR. Hotrodding will be sad thing,if it happens

This car does not have the character to be made into a hotrod, it needs to be restored to its former glory. If you do reconsider not purchasing it, please let me know. I am very much interested to restore her back to shape. No Papers also does not make a difference, as long as it has all its mechanical and cosmetical parts. Thank you.

Its certainly an American Built car from the mid to late twenties, could also be a Dodge Brothers going by the rims
