This Indian, Autometer kind came along in 1965 with the indigenisation. So this one is a model from 1965-70 perhaps.
Yes, as Mr Anjan has said, based on the Autometers meters, this may be later model Bedford. Later means in around late 60s or early early 70s. But Bedford was renamed as Hindustan somewhere in that period.
I came across a couple, Annai & Swapna, at Munnar in running condition last year. Take a look.

This is a very interesting vehicle, Can you post some more detailed pictures of it, the engine and the dash if possible please.

It looks like a Army vehicle from the sixties but not sure what make.

If you can see what it says on the engine block or on any plates on the firewall it will be nice

This was indeed a military truck - the Indian Army had many of these, inherited from the yanks/allies. It's a Dodge WC-52 Weapon's Carrier made during WWII. I call this a WC-52 instead of a WC-51 because of the front bumper, that housed a winch behind the gap, originally. The WC-51 had a straight bumper, closer to the radiator grille, since it didn't carry a winch - otherwise identical. The light housing on the front fender is a small, later modification. These were 4x4, 6-cyl, 3.8l jobs originally. For more, please ask Google Baba - I can talk about these all day long, coz I've literally grown up around them!

My mistake, regarding the lights. It was bothering me, so as soon as I got free from the pursuit of daily bread, I checked up on Google (since my books are at home). And these do look like the original cowls. It was an optical illusion created by the fenders being splayed from their original position, hence the lights were looking outward. If the fenders are bolted back in place, the lights will again be back inside, almost next to the rad grille!

And, the original 6-cyl engine seems to be there too. Besides in the military boyhood, I've driven these vehicles later in the African jungles too. Totally invincible on one hand, and totally 'makkhan' on the other! Nostalgic!

It is a ADLER , don't know what model.
The owner claims of being offered 20L for the car, and he refused to sell.

Recently I drove to Tarapur, on the way I bumped into car collectors, dealers and chor bazarwallah's, all searching for that Adler
I would like to see more pictures, and if possible determine whether this is a Trumpf or Trumpf Junior. Also, some history of the car.

Cheers harit

Does it belong to a Parsi family? I had heard of a Parsi gent there with an old 'Mercedes' with trafficators - possibly mistaken for this car.

Karl, Sounds like what you would expect a Parsi to say Parsi guys may find it easier to part with their wives, but not their cars.

And so say ALL of us. [ Men of the married kind] Seriously though, that beauty needs some serious TLC. If parsi owned, maybe Karl can use his charm and persuade the owner? Money spent on an Adler is well spent, unlike money spent on the W...... ,
