Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

My latest find in Jamshedpur & god willing my next acquisition in near future.
The owner has misplaced the RC at his HUGE house & is trying to locate the RC book which he says is still valid.
A nearby garage was taking care of the car engine till sometime ago so on the words of owner we tried cranking the engine with my car battery but alas no luck:

Thanks, I stand corrected. These are the 800, Esteem and Wagon R spares indeed!

The Herald is a two door and is indeed as you rightly put it from the Mark II era.The number is re-registered.I was going by the fact that in W.B. those days, very few motor vehicles would be re-registered and hence believing that the WMA 7120 date should be authentic.

In fact, in A.P. too it was compulsory for commercial vehicles to have the front and rear painted yellow in the 1980's- I am not sure if the same law applies today.

Sonu Veerji, the above Jeep is neither a Classic nor a vintage sir!! One will find hoards of such jeep rotting. Does not warrant a mention here, IMHO.

Hmmm... Thanks Praaji,
I indeed had second thoughts about this one but then went ahead with the post. Sometimes I do get carried away. Will keep a check on that.

Your Morris is a good find, you told about a roll's too in that area?? what about that. Do you see any Fiat Select's over there. Also were you able to find some shops having old spares, I still need 2-3 missing items. Lucky that you can frequent the place, wish I had time to do that.

Hi Manish,
Rolls!! Why did you let the cat out of basket. I'll still keep it under wraps.

There is one select but the garage guy has become two times smarter & is asking 80K. I'll try to find pics & send you.
I myself is looking for another Fiat 1100.
I found some crucial engine parts that I was looking for but didn't have enough time to hang around for other parts to become available. Though I have dropped my list & phone number with this guy/garage in Jsr & another one in Ranchi but am not very sure, if they would be calling me back. They had asked fro one months time so I'll give them that & then call them on my own & check on availability.
PM me your requirement & I do my best to be of some use.

Hi bro, long time..
Only three in my kitty so far, excluding my daily use M800.
Initially I went on buying spree as I got them one after the other & didnt want to lose on anyone of them. In fact that was the reason that Brownie's resto got delayed.
I sure will share info on any surplus Mille's, if any.

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

On the way to my hometown couple of days back, I stumbled upon this rusting Morris Minor at in a body works shop. I went up to the owner/worker, asked him if it is okay for him if I click some images to which he said YES. Everyone was staring at me as if I came from an alien planet, if you know what I mean

In all probability this car will either get completely rusted or modified into a junk as is the case with one Premier Padmini in one of the images.

GPS Co-ordinates of this body works shop : 10.933394, 76.010024

Only of someone can salvage that Transmission, Steering wheel, Door handles, Bonnet & trunk hinges. They seem to be in good condition.

The roof has caved in because something fell on it. Probably during construction some building material fell on it. Is the car a petrol or diesel?

The car is a good project to bring back to life if the price is right. Lot of work and parts are not cheap.

Cheers
