not really sure but the Shazore Mirza car may have been a late eighties / early nineties car.

Tha Sahani Golf was a nineties model.

There was a metallic Green Rabbit to in Hyderabad from the mid eighties.

Idris Lateef, the ex commander of the air force had brought a white Jetta when he retired from being the French ambassidor around 97/98 i think.

On another note my wife has a 2008 Golf GTI here in Abu Dhabi

Thanks for the info, Eid Mubarak to you.

The Early Golf are of particular interest to pre 1980 specially Diesels

Very hard to find and the ones that are available cost a fortune.

I remember seeing the white one parked there since 2008. The red-oxide one seems new there. Did you also see the other one (Van type) that was converted to a storeroom??

Shazor Mirza also had the grey Dharampur 6 Herald in 1998! , he'd brought it down from Bangalore and sold it to the present owner.

I remember seeing a yellow TN reg'd Beetle also with him (looked a bit pimped up with huge alloys and fat tyres) back then.

His workshop cum home is based in Hubsiguda (where we too had lived until 2004)

There used to be a v.nice white Golf with a later date regn. with someone in our colony around 10 years ago.

Then there is another white one junking away with a door mechanic in Sec'bad.

@wasif: I'm not sure if you're aware of this garage in a lane going towards Picket if you take the right turn after JBS junction, I always see 2-3 golfs there, one or two being other state regns. Maybe owned by Army Officers.

No, I didn't see it but will make it a point to check it out if I happen to pass by that garage. BTW the garage owner wanted me to put up an advertisement of a "Sidewall 6 cylinder engine" on Team-BHP! Attaching a pic of the same and a Nissan Cedric. Can someone through some light on the "Sidewall engine"?!

'Sidewall' probably means Side-Valve. As opposed to Overhead Valve Engines which came later.

The Cedric seems to be restorable. The question is, would you want to?

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

The 6 cylinder side-valve engine may be of interest to kaiser or frazer owners . It seems to have been pulled out of a 1947 Kaiser.

If you need, I can get you his number. This place is pretty closeby to where I stay. The last time I spoke to him, he said the owner isin't willing to sell it. The owner has no issues seeing it lying there but isin't willing to sell it. Shall PM you his number, try your luck once

*edit*: I just noticed that Shyn's last image has a number written there "ANWAR: 9247149902". Try your luck, in the mean time shall also have a word with him and check if its his number or now.

Shyam Bhai, since when has Vijay Nagar Colony become a part of Old City or on the other side of the City. Vijay Nagar Colony is still in the heart of the City and just a few meters away from Masab Tank/Lakdikapul/Nampally. This place isin't too far away from Masab Tank. The Masab Tank - Vijay Nagar Colony main road directly leads to this place, hence there is no question of getting lost or being unfamiliar with. Dude, looks like we're a bit confused here- I wasnt talking about this bazar ghat/Masab tank garage (I know where it is) but the other one- Hadi's garage (with the white hindustan and red morris) which is at Kaali Khabar, just opposite the rear entrance of IB bus station.

I would be interested in both, the station wagon as well as the Mercedes W108. Please let me know if they are for sale and what engines they are running. I sincerely hope that both have original engines. The Merc is indeed a W108 and may be a 250/280 S/SE though i have a gut feeling its a 280 SEL. You may PM me with the details.

The Station wagons i hope have not been vandalized. One retains original rims whereas the other has Mahindra ones. Hope the engine and tranny remain from what they used to be.

Thanks in anticipation.
