Hehe! Fortunately or unfortunately, not too seriously as with Standards!

Yes do post the pics. of the car. I'd posted pics. of a mint black one I saw at a garage near Masab tank a few years ago.

Also, if you read Auto India around 10 years ago, there was this H14 advertised for sale in Hyd., still in its original but faded paint, an olive-ish green colour. twas said to have original keys as well. The location was mentioned as Syed Ali Chabutra in Shah Ali Banda? I remember the regn. was AAX something- anyone in Hyd. know what became of this car?

Stanher, there was one Hindustan 14 lying with Hadi bhai for long time.

For reference purpose, here pictures of Hindustan 14 and Hindustan-10.
Hindustan-10 is also called Morris-10 M series and Hindustan-14 is referred as Morris Oxford MO. If I am not wrong Morris Oxford produced before Landmaster.

Ref: File:Morris Oxford MO 1952.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

and second pic. black Hindustan-10 or Morris 10 M series

I learned Sudhakar has one Morris 10 M done very flashy green colour,
black colour looks greats.

Cheers!

Yes, the white one. It's still lying there, alongwith a couple of other classics 'waiting to be restored.'

But the later H 10 got the same shape as the H 14, only a bit smaller. I remember having seen such a car on the road here with a Madras (MSX) regn.
around 10 years ago.

Or rather like your beloved Landmaster!
Thanks Shyam for remembering my Landmaster!
The Hindusthan 10 (note the spelling with the "h" after the t, from the 1940's-it was Hindusthan in the 1940's and later it became Hindustan) era ended in 1949.
HM introduced the Baby Hindustan (which Shyam you're perhaps referring to as the H 10)in the mid 1950's based on the Morris Minor. The CKD kits came from Morris Motors. But very soon the 1955 draconian law, banning all car imports into India and the automobile policy that gave licence to Standard, HM and PAL for only one car model each, ended the very short (guess it was in production for less than a year) era of the Baby Hindustan. Also biggies like Ford, Chrysler and GM who assembled cars fled.A sea change took place and so many imports were stopped. The Rootes Group, Rover,BMC and many others also packed up from India. The government wanted no CKD/SKD imports but a long term phased manufacturing programme (PMP) and commitment.

Nope, sorry!

I know the baby Hindust(h)an, as you say, was an OHV engined car with a wide one-piece windscreen based on the mid '50s Minor. That's not the car I'm referring to, I do recall seeing a H 10 in the same shape as the H 14, only a bit smaller. I dont have pics. of examples of the model I refer to I'm afraid!

Yup I remember the Ad shyam, I should have that magzine with me somewhere. That was a fantastic car with original paint and keys. This car which I am talking about is APX series and she looks great I only wish if I had loads of monies the car would have been with me by now and I would be posting pics. Today I saw the car again Fenders got dented i guess as they applied red oxide to it. I felt the car wants to say something to me like pick me up from here rather becoming a joker car. I feel pity for her.

A 1959 1100 Select come for scrapping here.

A very sad car, not much left in it! 'looks like it was previously abandoned by the roadside for quite a while and underwent lot of pilfering/vandalism, which would explain its present state!

It's likely to be broken tomorrow, so if anyone's interested in the few original parts left on it that are worth taking (balaji's agreed to have the tail-lamps) do pm me ASAP. I might have my mech. going down there as I'm rather busy right now, with an exam the day after tomorrow.
@hillram: See if you need the doors from this car, except maybe the right rear one.

Incidentally, when I was in school, my history teacher had a similar car in her family (was her FIL's car actually, she later told me it was sold long ago and replaced by a padmini)
I dont know if this is the same car, I had seen it just once, atleast 15 years ago, when she was dropped to school in it just on that day (she normally travelled by bus) and I wasnt a 'mature' (excuse pun! ) car-spotter those days, so I dont recall any other details like the number etc. Only that it was the same colour and atleast bodily the same condition too!
The day I saw it, I recall it had a lot of filler-covered patches on it, as if it was taken out in the middle of a repaint job!

'will get in touch with her and ask her sometime.

Indeed. Incidentally I remember a similar car in Pune in powder blue with the number MTJ 400, also a later 70s number like ATL.

APC 1 was the coolest of all though, no doubt!!
How narrowly I missed saving her!

Then there was also APU 400, broken by the same guy couple of years ago, and before that APY 1234.

shyam,
i am afraid you have got wrong info
There was only one model of hindustan10(indian version of MORRIS10/4)
that was available for only 2 years till 1948 when it was replaced by the Hindustan14(morris oxfordMO) and later in 1953 it was given a facelift as the Hindustan Newlook
I am fully confident on this because I know a person who has both H10 and H14

And for most of us, source of spares!

But, a few of them that are too good to be scrapped do deserve to be saved!
