Oh no what a waste of metal. Sir where is this car rotting away? BTW there is nothing left to sell. I think nothing can be salvaged from this car either.

This Zephyr seems to be restorative to some extent. But it seems that the car has been moved to road recently. BTW do you have any idea of the garage just opposite the convention centre near haathi park. Saw a white herald there and couple of classics. Another find was a sipani dolphin in half restored state near Shalimar square indra nagar. Hope you can shed some light.

The owner should part with it, atleast some others will benefit, by salvaging few parts from it.

There are lots of parts that are still salvagable, a VW in any type is resourcefull. Dont write it off

The Traveller I would think would only refer to the wooden slatted versions, for private use. This commercial variant would probably be termed a Handyman or panelvan or something of the sort.

As Karl and Wasif stated, this is a Morris Commercial. There was a white one at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. And I had seen one in Bangalore about 12 zears ago. And I had seen three in Chennai about 15 zears ago. The one in Mumbai has been sold on. The others in Bangalore and Chennai were working cars on the road.

Cheers harit

'looks like a Hindustan 10 or 14. A real sad sight indeed! It looks like its been parked there only for the parking space? Someone had posted pics. of a padmini in a similar predicament!

With reference to the Hindustan that Cyrus has posted, I've been noticing that car for over a decade, eversince it was up and running but then left unused to actually fall apart.

The cover on it is changed and attended to as and when required, which means someone is attentively aware and keeping it there for either sentiments or parking as Stanher guessed.

Its a Hindusthan 14-the older model as the partly broken front grille shows. This one came in 1949 and was followed by another one in 1952 which had a newly designed front grille like the older Mark I Ambassadors.
This is one example which is not very original (picture clicked by me):

The one below is a fine example of the older model which is posted here by CYRUS 43

The one below is is a fine example of the newer model

Yes, the early H 10 did have a different shape, based on the Morris 10 of that year to be precise. Here is one owned by fellow tbhpian veldeep (orange and white one)

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attach...res-cars01.jpg

But the later H 10 got the same shape as the H 14, only a bit smaller. I remember having seen such a car on the road here with a Madras (MSX) regn.
around 10 years ago.

Stanher guru are you into Hindustan also. There is one fairly well kept Hindustan of the latest version which has come up for painting and body work but I am sure the car will end up like a joker colour because the earlier car which was also a Hindustand ended up with german red and matt black fenders to sell. That made me mad and went to the garage to save this beauty which has got most of the cosmetics in very good condition, car is also neat but the floor need work which is being done up so any likers can get a good car and I can help in saving her. I can post pictures next time I go there.
