Sorry guys but I think this thread is going off topic and getting diverted though its an informative subject, pictures have stopped coming in. We can have a different threat for maintenance of rubber parts and aids to help it.

Eeeh! its so painful! I guess the Fiat can still be restored, these beauties are now used to hold cows. whats the other car? is it a a Dodge? Look at the chrome quality of those cars its under the sky from don't know when but still retain the shine. Thats the standard of quality in those days.

woooohoooo....went to karol bagh today and on ajmal khan road saw this very complete standard herald standing outside a preindependance house. even the herald badge on the c pillar, the tail lights and the ub caps were on it. but as is the case with unlucky me....if the owner were selling it would have been sold by now, still ill go with my dad next sunday to talk to the ppl living there, since no one takes youngsters seriously( i learnt that while looking fr a sierra and a conti).mayb ..just mayb i might get lucky

will post pictures soon. as soon as i get them from my friends mobile( i frgot my cell fones mem stick in my camera -at home)

any idea if the owner is unwilling to sell it...looking at the house it is possible the owner isnt alive anymore, or the reason for it to be still around could be that there just arent enough connoisseurs in delhi in that case i migh get lucky and get the car. but it stands in karol bagh (the main automobile market in delhi)..it just doesnt make sense

I'm not so sure about the Landmaster or the 1100, but those Yezdis do look like they've been left there to rot.
Check out the one on the left which didn't even get updated with the black characters on white background number plate.

Dodge/DeSoto/Chrysler 1947 Fluid Drive. Wonder if the fluid is still in there?

This Mercedes Transporter seems to have been a fully equiped recording van, Fernseh is TV, it seems that Bosch also supplied TV equipments. Hope atleast the equipment has been stored properly. The Mercedes seems to have been grafted with Indian headlights and indicator lenses. Look closely.

Cheers harit

The Landmaster hasnt moved in ages. I guess Its the Pune Weather. And the Fiat also is just lying there for a while now. Karl should know better.

According to a friend who lives in the same building, who shares his name with the "Yezdi" brand, he says that he has never seen the yezdis move from their location.

@Harit, The Headlights and the Indicator lense thing was the First thing that came to my mind when I saw it. Im sure the Equipment is in better shape.

The MB van head lights look like the real thing and not grafted the indicators maybe replaced but head lights sure are original. They all shared common parts anyway ref below

http://images.google.co.in/images?hl...=f&oq=&start=0

Tempo/matador etc had a lot of common parts but still looks like the real thing and not a local retrofit

If you look very close you may see "Made in India" on the glass.

Cheers harit
