Look at the car man - neglected, paint job flaking et al, but NO RUST ! Gawwd, we're really envy Pune / Bangalore for its weather and how it naturally helps preserve cars.

It almost feels like someone parked the car and went to buy an icecream, definately not an abandoned car.

On closer look it seems to be a tow truck, how appropriate, did not speedy mention he is looking for a truck to tow his cars?
I have never seen one before, but looking close at the picture i can see the swage line in the bonnet that the dodges never had.
In fact I would think that perhaps only India got those?.
Dodge built power wagons from 1940 right into the 1980's and it's quite surprising to see those are only 1995 models. My newest car is a 1989!
Even the wrecked ones pictured in the archives.
This is a a Dodge and you can see the various differences in the panels such the bonnet and the grill shape.

In fact those nissans look more like GAZ trucks from WW2.

Star Man,

I'm no one to question your knowledge. But my little research on the Dodge PW tells me that the Dodge PW (atleast some models) did have swage lines on the side of the bonnet, as well as a grille shape quite similar to the Nissan 1 tonner.

Refer this anecdote I'd written sometime back.

In the post, there's a pic of an American Army PW as well. Even that vehicle had swage lines and a similar grill. So the feature was not restricted to India.

The Pictures taken by the "tin Hunter" are of a yard in Switzerland. There is going to an Auction there on the 19th September. The local council would rather tourists look at mountains ,chalets and cows not rusting old relics .

The JEEP

Location: Behind BTM Water Tank (on a parallel road)

I had gone there for some personal work the first time and noticed the JEEP. I could not take my eyes off. My hubby and I looked at it from all possible angles. A lady who stays right opposite, came out. She said it belonged to her brother,a doctor and was not using it currently.

After the admiration, we left.

Last Saturday, when we went there again, I could not help clicking away. She came out again and when I turned she recognised. She asked me why I clicked. I said its a beautiful machine. She asked if I was interested. Her brother was thinking of selling as he did not have the time to drive it around. I gave my number just to know what the offer was. I have not gotten a call yet.

I am sure in good hands, this beauty can be restored. Hope to not see this vehicle crumbling to dust...

Here are a few pics I took from my phone

Jeep looks in decent condition.

Does not look that bad that it deserves mention in this thread.

Right Hand Drive / No C Shackles / Recessed Headlight wrong / Grille modified / No split rims / Cross member not seen / shock absorber top bolts seen front and back which should actually not.

There are some major modifications done, but overall does not lack the essence of a Low bonnet.

Well i think it was some other high bonnet jeep modified and made into a low bonnet one.I have heard of many of these things done to jeeps down south. So there is a possibility.

Yes this trend is in very much vogue now a days. And 10 yrs ago mechanics did the opposite of that to suit customer demand .

Well it happens both ways depending on what the owner wants.

I saw some RUST underneath if that is a criteria to have included the JEEP here

Jokes apart. On a serious note : If its not, I would request the Moderator to take it off. Not a problem.

I would not want to disregard the forum rules at any point of time
