Sir you have a great eye for detail.. Have a lot to learn from you. All your posts, without exception, are a treat to read.

To add the bottom part of the lights should be a white as that is the reverse light. I agree with Harit here. Sometimes cars look restorable and then one get conned into buying a car like that. That would be the end of the enthusiast.

Sad indeed! This is a mid/late 60s mark2, missing the bootlid badges. 'looks like a very restorable car, and very complete barring those fiat tail-lights and bumperguards (uggghhh!!) plus the bootlid hinges. Also the roof has an additional side-channel fitted/welded. But otherwise very original. It appears to have an original dimpled hubcap and has the rare original front sidelights, very few mk2s that still have them.
So what's the story on this car? Any trace of the owner??

If there is no hope for it, uh...any chance of getting off those side-trims, and even the bonnet trim/badges??

Guys saw a Fiat (Dukker, dont know the exact model) in Pune aroud 2 weeks ago, if one is going from Karve road past the Mhatre Bridge before you hit the main road coming from Alka theater on the left hand side in front of some small shops (green in color). Dont know if it for sale but seemed almost in the ground.

Is this the car you saw? If so, it belongs to a driving school, is a 58-62 model, and doesn't look worth restoring. Some neat parts can come out of it though.

finally it shows up here

this has been here for a few years now. It was running even when I was in college those days - it was parked in a house nearby, near the amset showroom.I remember seeing it from when i was in kintergarden. It used to be a dark brown till recently. I guess it was driven there (thats near a workshop) , and stayed there.

Holy cow Karl. That car when I last saw it, not a long while ago, has really sprouted vegetation around it....or has it been moved to a more lush place?

Good to know that you atleast know where the car came from! So any idea if the owners are still around in that house? If so, you could ask them about the car, in case anyone wants to save it? 'still seems very much restorable.
Did it have those fiat tail-lights and bumper-guards then too btw?

My 1st post

Hello all, this is my first post.
The Volkswagen is unknown to me. Was found near cst road.
The merc 280 S was in running condition(but rotting) until a few weeks back.
The FIAT has been lying near 5 gardens area since quite some time now.

This is a very well known car in the Bombay Fiat Circle!! The Lady who owns this car doesnt want to sell this car even though it is sinking into the ground.

edit:That passat used to be at shivaji Park.
