Re: Faster789's collection

The Bugatti with the Alloy wheels, is it pictured in India.

The JRD Tata Bugatti had wire wheels so its most likely these are two different cars.

The one with the alloy wheels looks more like a Type 37 to me going by the lenght of the bonnet.

Hope youc an dig up some more pics of the Bugatti's.

What about that streamline Bugatti you posted in the original batch, was / is this car in India ?

The difference in wheels is not something I would make base my decision on, so I cannot comment other than to say plenty of Type 35 owners have more than one set of wheels. Also, the "signature" wheels were an option anyway.

The Type 35 and Type 37 used the exact same chassis and body, so I am afraid you can't be right there. The car(s) pictured is/are Type 35s().

As I said, I do not think or cannot be sure that is a Bugatti. I think it is a Talbot Lago. I am expecting confirmation of that at some point.

Regarding the Talbot Lago ? Bugatti streamline was it in India and is it still around or exported.

Also the APK Bentley in your first lot, any info on its ownership history. The plate appears to be from AP / Hyderabad

The Bentley MK VI indeed is a Baroda car #B8AK with VandenPlas saloon body, one of the first cars delivered (Oct. 1946). It still exists.

The Bugatti with the owner's son is not a 35B in my opinion, but a Type 37 which is a 4-cylinder.

Is the car in India? Would you have any more recent pictures?

Looking at the Packard picture I hazard a guess that it could be the same car that was entered at this years Cartier show by Rajiv Kher, as both appear to have polished bonnets and otherwise seem identical to me. Subject to correction of course.

Can anyone identify the picturesque backdrop?

Mr. Rajiv Kher's car used to belong to Late. Mr. Shashi Kanoria once upon a time.

Re: Faster789's collection

This thread has some exciting pictures, though they left many questions.
Here is the Delage as shown by Faster, below is the same car as she was lying near Nana Chowk in Mumbai in a garage. This picture was taken by me around 1978. She was picked up and went to Indore, still supposed to be there. How could one junk a car like this? Here the problem was not garage bills.
And here is an opportunity to see the rear of the car

Cheers harit

Re: Faster789's collection

In the b+w picture above, on the extreme left, there is a car which I cannot identify. Any suggestions? I have zoomed that part of the picture again.

Cheers harit

No, I do not think so. This is a pre-war car, but have not been able to figure it out.

Re: Faster789's collection

Correction to my last statement but this looks like a and I would say for sure a 1946/47 Rover similar to teh kapadia car that used to come for the VCCCI rally and not a Mercedes or a Chrysler.

Cheers
