I got the 175/65/14. Rides pretty well I say.
Is there anything about the 'offset' that we should be looking for while buying alloys for the Beat? And is it possible to have 14inch 6J alloys with the OEM tyres? And also what PCD should i be looking at?
hey guys i upgraded to 165/65/14 and got alloys. Went for contis cec3 as these were the only tyres available in the size. Ride is pretty good and grippy and noise is minimal. Will upload pics soon.

How much did you spend for for your tyre upgrade and alloy wheels?
Saw this white Beat LT with alloys today evening near Chandapura flyover.
I could take some snaps using my mobile.
Since it was dark and no flash in my mobile, the photos are not clear.
It was looking awesome with the red lipped alloys - 14" Apollo AcelereWheelz.
The tyres were stock JKs
This is the same one with red lip. I took this snap from Reliance Autozone.
The finish is too good.
Is it advisable to put 185/60 tyres on the beat? If yes, what should be the size (width) of the alloys? I don't want the wheels to stick out from the body.
I've seen white alloys on some cars. Are such type alloys available in the market or are they an after market job?

Generally speaking, what and how do dealers sell these tires?
Well, if an existing Beat owner has damaged a single tyre, either due to hitting something or maybe the tyre had a puncture on the sidewall, then he wouldnt want to spend a lot of money on a single tyre.
so, he gets an option from the tyre dealer(if the tyre dealer has it in stock) to buy a removed tyre which has run about 100 kms or lesser for about 70% of the cost of the new tyre.
In most cases, the owner of the car would be happy with this deal because he saves 30% or more in most cases.
Another option for the tyre dealer is to sell all 4 tyres to the Beat owner when he comes in after 35-40k kms. The dealer will tell the owner this: Sir, a new tyre costs 2500/-(for example). I have these 4 tyres which have done about 100 kms. I will let them go for 1700/- per tyre. You can inspect them and then buy it.
In this case, the dealer would have hold on to these removed tyres for a very long time and during this period, it is as good as dead stock.
Another option unethical dealers have is to polish the tyres and sell them as new. This doesnt benefit the customer as he gets a 100 kms run tyre for the price of a new one. Technically, nothing wrong in this. In all probability, the tyre will be in great condition, but I find this practice really bad.

Also could you guys please post some alloy pics that would suit the Beat? please: I am getting more and more confused as i look around at designs.
Guys, michelin website shows 185/70/14 tires in energy XM1+, with minimum rim width as 4.5 inches. Is the size still available in the market or has it been discontinued. I think this would be the perfect upgrade for the Beat.
185/70 R14 is waaaay too tall for the Beat. It is easily available in the market, but not for a Beat.

No idea about the offset. You can ask the dealer for that info and post here so we can all benefit.
OEM tyres are NOT AT ALL recommended on the 6j rims. 6j rims require a minimum of 175 section tyres.
Beat PCD is 100.
Hey everybody. I got my alloys done last wednesday.
MOMO Corse 14" alloys with Continental CEC3 165/65 R14.
The car is looking hot now after doing the wheels:D

Car looks really nice! However, you should have gone in for 175/65 R14. Better ride quality as well.
Thanks a lot nikhil! Yeah thats what i asked for initially but deepak said he did a few beats and felt the tyre might hit inside with 175/65 if we hit potholes at speed due to the soft suspension. Its ok anyway. I'm satisfied with my car's looks and the ride quality:)
Nikhil, could you please explain why you think 185/70 is too tall for the beat? The original tires are 70mm as well. Is it because there is a chance of the tires hitting the inside wheel arch due to the width? I had phoned a tire dealer and he told me that he had put 195/60/14 on a beat.
