Confusion

15" is not recommended. The tyre will be very very low profile and it isnt good for your ride quality, suspension or anything.

Get 14" alloys and put 185/60 R14.[/quote]

@ Nikhil

Thanks for the quick reply .I am totally confused with what kinda alloys i should be looking at, oh by the way am buying a white Beat.I need alloys which will go well with its looks, planing to go for yoko C drives.
Any suggestions wrt the alloy designs that i need to checkout.

When I checked up with Neo wheels dealer, he told 14" dia - 5.5" wide wheels are available and 155/70 R14 can be fitted on it without any problem.
If it is true, what is your openion on this?

Well, if he is saying it, it must be right. To be honest, I didnt think of Neo when I posted previously! Neo might have 5.5j.

I'm getting the LT option pack and wanted to upgrade the tires. Are we sure that the max size that we can put on these alloys are 175/60/14? And can someone please recommend the best tires in that size? I'm thinking of spending about 3.5k a tire so i'm thinking the michelin xm tires? I'd like to buy the tires this weekend so if someone could give me a definitive answer, it'd be of great help. Thanks guys.

You can put 175/65 R14. The cost of this tyre in Michelin is around 3750 per tyre.

You dont get 175/60 R14 in XM1+. Also, this would give you a bad ride quality.

@ Nikhil
As per the rim width calculator link which I got from Team-BHP, the rim width for 155/70 R14 tyre can be 4.5" upto 6".
Considering the upper extreme limit, what is your view in using 14x6J alloy with stock tyres?
I am considering this because maximum varieties are available in 14x6J in most of the brands.
14x5.5J is available only with very few brands as well as OE.
May be I can change the tyres later.
Chevy Beat : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread-rim-width.jpg
Had a look at some of the Neo designs and found the finish is not so good.
So now I am considering brands Accelere, Plati, League, Veloche etc.
How you guys rank these brands considering cost as well as quality/appearance?

BTW my dealer offered me Rs.500 each for the stock rims.
Is it a good deal?
I am planning to go for set of 4 only.
They are having only League and Plati brands.
Can any of you throw some light on the cost of Plati and League?

My friend booked BEAT LT red colour. Planning to fit alloys and new tyres, will be watching this thread closely. We have about a month and half to decide as the delivery of the vehicle is scheduled in March first week.

Nikhil, could you please suggest some alloy designs for red BEAT?

The Red of the Beat will be different from the red of your Spark.

So, I would recommend something which has black and hyper silver.

If not that, then a white/off-white with red lip.

The alloy wheel you have, the same thing is available in off white. So, that would look pretty good as well.

Red cars will look good with almost anything!

I got the yoko a-drive for 3400 each plus 1500 buy back from a local tire shop (think the guy was a bit nuts to give 1500 but hey, who am i to criticize?) :-P

tires ride well, I think the chevy guys filled it with a bit too much air so i've got to experiment a bit with the pressure. any suggestions?
