Michelin Primacy LC

I was quoted Rs.5,250 for 195-65-R15. Planning to get two no.s for my Civic.

I got the 205/65 R15 for 5500 each and got 2000 in exchange for my ~4000 kms old GoodYear NCT5 tyres. Got wheel balancing and a Samsung mobile phone free.

Primacy-LC for Civic 195/65/15 is presently not available in Chennai, Madurai, etc.
I was offered GoodYear Duraplus.
I am presently searching TeamBhp and the net for reviews.
Any advice? is it good?

Duraplus simply cannot be compared with the Primacy LC. The Goodyear tyre that can be compared is something like the Excellence.

I would anyway recommend you go in for Yoko C drive in 205/65 R15 or something like that. Continental CPC2 is also a good option

Nikhil. Which tyre would you recommend as a replacement for the SX4 ZXi? Good tyre life and comfort are more important than performance.

Changed my tyres to Michelin Primacy LC (195/60-15) on my CEDIA.
I had Michelin PP2 (205/60-15) earlier, that lasted for 40k km.

This is what I feel about Primacy LC,

They are much silent and gives a comfort ride compared to PP2. The car glides effortlessly. They are all good features, but I would prefer PP2 over Primacy LC anyday.

Because, the kind of grip and feedback that PP2 gives is phenomenal. With PP2, steering feels heaver and more controlled.
For a car like CEDIA, it has to be PP2.

Size walls are too soft on Primacy LC. I have to be much more carefull now. PP2 could take any kind of abuse a CEDIA driver can do. I doubt Primacy LC can take it to that extend.

Sport Vs Comfort, the difference is huge. Planted on road feel is so different from gliding feel!. I am after sport now.

Why did Michelin stop PP2

At least bring the PS3 soon (for my car's size)

Upgraded our SwifDy to 195/60/15 Primary LCs today and had similar experience - much silent and comfortable compared to MXV8s, but the steering does feel lighter.

PLC is strictly a comfort tire and its says so. Michelin India website shows PP2 as being available and also shows Primacy HP which is performance oriented.

Besides you went from wide tire to a narrow tire.

Nikhil whats your take on C Drive VS CPC2 ?

Abhibh ---- I would say the CPC2 will be more durable on bad roads, potholes, etc...

However, for comfort, silence I would say the C drive would be much better.

Grip: Undecided as of now. If I had to take a guess, In the wet, I think the CPC2 would be much better. In the dry I think the C Drive would be better based on the feedback from a few people who are using the C drives.

I really need some help here. Iam replacing my New Polo stock 14'' tyres & rims with the OE Alloys which are 15''. I was told by 2 dealers that Primacy LC 195/60/R15 is a good fit for the OE alloys. Request your opinion if thats okay for the Polo Petrol Trendline.

Yup. 195/60 R15 is a good size. You can definitely go for the PLC. Just be warned that the tyre is reasonably soft.

have these on the Corolla that I got a couple of months back ; I maintain 32psi - and am amazed at the super silent ride

any special precautions to ensure that sidewalls don't get cut?

As Nikhil mentioned the tyres are soft, got to be careful on bad patches. Can you mention the details of the dealer and the price quoted for each tyre ?

The dealer is Lal Enterprises, Lloyds Road, Gopalapuram.

He has quoted 5325 per tyre and buyback at 2000 per stock tyre(Apollo Accelere's) and 300 per stock rim. So i need to pay the difference(abt 9200). Seems fair?
