I dont think the problem is due to the rims or tyres. You should get the brakes checked up.

even if there is a slight decrease in braking efficiency(highly unlikely given that you have an extra 20mm of rubber on the road), it shouldnt be so much.

i tried the old tires on the same rims and the braking was normal so its not the brakes problem

What is the right upsize for Ford Fiesta?? I currenty have Neo Chrome Alloys on the regular MRF tyres. It has completed 57K KMS so need to change to new ones now. I was thinking of Brigestone Turanza ER-60 195/60/14. Is this the right size? Or should i stay at 185/60/14. Since i have Alloys which are 14", i cant upsize the rims, but would love to upsize the tyres.
Please sugest me the right upsize. I dont want the tyres to be touching sidewalls, so size is very important. OR do you guys think that 195/70/14 would be good size? I hope that this size wont touch the sidewalls of the car. I personaly think that 195/70/14 would be great if they can fit cause they will provide me better comfort than 195/60/14. Do you guys thinks so??
Please advice as i really need to change the tyres. Also if someone can tell me the price for Turanza in Delhi.

Could you please give us details on your old tyres and your new tyres?

After experiencing the probklem with your new tyres, did you THEN try the old 165 tyres?

195/70 R14 is the wrong upsize and will touch the sides. 195/60 R14 is a correct upsize. However, 185/65 R14 will give you better ride comfort.

You already have the Bridgestone Turanza Er 60 in mind. It is not there in 185/65 R14. In 185/65 R14 you can go for Michelin XM1+. I would say that would be the most comfortable for you.

How about 185/70/14 Turanza? The reason i like these is because i like the look of it then Michelin XM1, nothing more. I know Nikhil that you know which would be the best tyres so please suggest.

185/70 R14 is also the wrong size. If you like the looks of the tyre so much, then go for 195/60 R14 ER 60. I doubt you'll regret it!

My personal opinion is usually Michelin(in a case where it's Michelin vs Bridgestone). But nothing wrong with BS ER 60 either.

Hey Nikhil please help me also.I have to change the footwear on baleno along with new alloys .My choice in sizes 195/60 R15 .I am not sure of it though regarding if it will fit or not.I do not want the 195/55R15 profile too low .If 195/60R15 fits i will go for it else 195/60 or 185/65 R14 is what i will go for .
Please clarify regarding 195/60 R15 In baleno.

195/60 r15 will probably scrape. if you want 60 profile then 195/60 r14 is the way to go.

195/60 R15 will most probably scrape. It is similar in OD to 205/55 R15 and rjstyles69 has a Baleno in which he was running 205/55 R15 and it used to scrape on full load.

I have shortlisted the below for Baleno;
The standard size is ;
185/65 R14 Tyre Sidewall Height 120.25 Rolling Circumference 1812 Diameter 594
My preferred size is ;
195/60 R15 Tyre Sidewall Height 117 Rolling Circumference 1864 Diameter 611
My not so nice option is ;
195/55 R15 Tyre Sidewall Height 107.25 Rolling Circumference 1812 Diameter 594
I would really like to go for 195/60R15 but as few of you have said it will scrape i think i would have to go for 195/55 R15.
Also please someone give me a link where i can get the alloys as they are on Post 2005 Baleno VXI .Also if the same is available in R15.I am looking for Aura preferably.

Also 205/55R15 may be scraping on full load on the inner edges since it is wider than 195/60R15?

No Aura in 15" for Baleno. Definitely.

Secondly, please dont go for 195/60 R15. You will regret it. Go for 195/55 R15. Or 195/60 R14.

205/55 R15 will also scrape. rjstyles69 had the same experience with his Baleno.

You can go for Lenso alloy wheels. They are superb. They look good and are of good qualtity also.
