Srinath.

175/70-13 for a Getz is the best upsize in 13". I would advise u to stick with it.
In 185/65-13 u wont have any good tyre options also.
195/60-13 would to be too wide for the existing alloys IMO.

thanks... and how about non-comfort orientation? I was actually thinking of R18. Is it possible? which brand do you recommend (for R16 and R18)?

But why are you looking for R18 option?

TATA Indica Turbo v2 DLX 2007 (face lifted)

I'm currently running on 165 65 R14 79T S322, Bridgestone Tubed (stock).

just completed 30,000 kms in 20 months and the stock Bridgestone tyres have already started to crack; its because the way i drive i guess.. got a heavy right foot

i was thinking of using 175 60 R14 on the stock pressed steel rims by valve addition. But as i used the tyre size calculator, it said that my speedometer will be fast (100 km/h speedo will mean 99.2 km/h real speed) which means that my odometer will run faster.

So then i tried 175 65 R14 in the calculator; and that said 100 km/h = 102.3 km/h and speedo will be slower than stock tyre size speed and odometer also slow.

Now i'm confused with my odometer reading issues here. I plan not to sell my turbo under any circumstances for a long time (got memories).

The stock tyres are too noisy and do not have that good stopping power in wet/dry conditions (i feel). And i don't want to spend on rims at the moment.

My Questions:

1) Which size should i go for??

I'm looking for performance with less tyre noise.

2) Which company's rubber is good??

I didn't like my Bridgestone tires even though the company claims:

"S322 a well-accepted international pattern." < ok..

"Exceptional handling in hazardous wet conditions." < thats a joke, not that exceptional.

"Low noise." < above 120 km/h speeds i have to increase my stero's volume from 32 to 40 and its not my tata engine noise.

"Excellent braking capability." < Hmm.. may be i'm too fast ; and

"Designed to improve wear resistance to provide a longer tyre life." < not in my case, i already got the grooves giving up.

S322 tyre Summary

@bglsrini
Estilo VXi comes with what I have upgraded to,namely 155/65 R 13 tubeless. But those are usually stock MRF ZVTS or JK Tyre. I upgraded to Michelin XM1 as these are extremely capable (I have done speeds in excess of 165 Kmph -straight line offcourse ), exceptional in wet conditions and with very low tyre noise but with a good ride comfort. I am very happy with the Michelins. You can try them if you want. The second part of your query would be best answered by our resident 'tyre experts' -- kpzen and iraghava . Pm them and get your clarifications done.

If you want to switch to tubeless ones, you can try Apollo Acelere or Michelin XM1 Energy.
As I said above, please ask kpzen or iraghava. They will gladly help you out guys.

155/65-13 is a good upgrade for Estilo
- Michelin XM1, Yoko A drive and Apollo Acelere are the good tires available in that size.

- Estilo and Santro have the same PCD so theoretically the rims can be swapped.

- 185/60-14 is a good upgrade for your car. Michelin PP,Yoko A drives and Apollo aceleres are available in that size.

- If i assume the rims to be 5j then u should consider 175/60-14(Yoko A539) or 175/65-14

I have a 2004 Zen VXi new model (not Estilo), and it runs on stock 12" rims. I also have a Palio Stile SDX, which runs on 165/80 R13. I'm planning to upgrade those to alloys + Michelin Energy XM1. The Zen's tyres have run 33k and should be replaced soon. Can I swap the Palio's R13 rims & tyres on the Zen? Would the upsized tyres hit the tyre well under load or bad bumps? Tyre gurus, please advice.

Cheers!

DueLLer

Absolutely not possible. Forget it.

Both cars have different size tires and rims. Nothing can be swapped.
and do NOT even try to experiment it...

Thanks for the advice, kpzen. When I upgrade to alloys and new tyres for the Palio, looks like I'll have to sell off the Palio's stock rims and tyres to the dealer itself.

Cheers!

I want to upgrade my Optra magnum tires and alloy. At present it have OE alloys(15*6) and 195/60tyre.Is it possible to swap this set of alloy and tires to a 2004 optra petrol which has 14" inch wheel at present.

I have seen an alloy for my magnum but its size is 15*6.5.Is it possible to go for this size alloy and if yes what should be the ideal tyre specification and which brand tyre should i consider. Will there be any change in the ride quality if i change the rim size? Advice needed from the experts.

Regards,
Dhanus
