They are the most silent tires you can get.
Michelins doesn't get so hard unless they are 5+ yrs old. Can you check the mfg wk of the tires ?

How much has the car done ? Get the wheel bearings checked.

The car has done 25K. The wheel bearings are fine.

I just felt the tires were noisy. They are still better than the MRF ZVTS on my M800.

I think I should increase my tolerance levels

There was a lot of talk about the A-Drives. Are they still VFM? I heard the prices are gone up and the VFM factor is now gone.

A-Drives are still way cheaper than XM1s or Turanzas in equivalent size. And equally good tyres, IMHO. What size are you looking for?

Actually one of my office staff was looking to change the tyres of his Santro. He's currently running MRF's and was going to replace with the same model. What is the next upsize without changing the rims?

Upsize for the Santro's 155/70 R13 should be 165/65R13. They should cost you around 3.1K. I have exactly that size of A-Drives on my Indica

Price of all tires have gone up, its not only the A drives.
A drives and Aceleres are still the most VFM tires available.

MPower --- Yes, all the XM1s are now XM1+s. However, I have noticed some Jazzes and ANHCs coming with XM1s only.

And coming to prices, the prices are shooting upwards! It looks like they are trying to ruin life for the petrolheads! They seem to be in sync with petrol prices.

The difference is that petrol price will come down if crude oil prices come down. Natural Rubber price is only going up. No sign of coming down.

I got Four Tyres XM1+ a week back from Tyrestore, Chennai.
It costed Rs. 4275 Each.

Looks the rates are revised from Jan'11, In Dec'10 it was Rs.4200.
But, tires are brilliant. I was wondering on whether these tires would make atleast 10K Odo, this is really very soft and its great on road. I was having OEM GoodYear previously.

I was looking for 195x70xR14 and the wait for Turanza is becoming frustrating -- 2 months and no stock yet. Michelin seems to be in stock. XM1+ is quoted 250 more than what was in December. 4400 per tyre (Darshan Tyres, Pune)

How bad have the prices gone up? Is the price above OK?
