I have done close to 5,000km, and the tyres are holding up very well. They are on par with continentals and Michelins.

Road noise is very low, and they absorb the bumps very well. I drive a seltos which comes with 18inchers. I ensure the tyre pressure is set to 31psi (cold tyre) and the drive is excellent. Most of my drives are on the highway, though. Having said that, whatever small amount of kilometres I have driven within the city limits, they still are good tyres*

Re: Bridgestone launches Turanza 6i

Got the Turanza 6i fitted on my Ford EcoSport yesterday. OEM tyre size was 205/50/R15 - due to limited availability, I decided to go for 205/55/R17.

The Turanza 6i are definitely quieter and softer than the OEM Bridgestone Ecopia. Drove only 40 km yesterday after fitting the tyres.

Re: Bridgestone launches Turanza 6i

I have installed the Tyres on my new Taigun and driven it in the highway for 200kms and 50kms within city limits. Have driven in all conditions. Good/smooth, bad/patchy/bumpy roads. Very much satisfied with the tyres. Will give periodic updates in the long run

Re: Bridgestone launches Turanza 6i

This is my experience of the switch to Turanza 6i. After clocking about 70,000 km on Tata Harrier on the stock Bridgestone Ecopia, the time had come to finally change the tyres. Since these 70,000 km were done in a span of just 2 and a half years, finding the correct tyre was of paramount importance. So, I went for the most obvious steps-consult the tyre expert. For quite sometime now, I have been consulting Kiran (TyreX) for my tyre related queues. My first question was if I needed to go for a set of all terrain tyres. However since most of my use was on smooth highways, Kiran advised me against it.

Now was the time to do my research. Continental, Michelin and Bridgestone were the strongest contenders. I decided to go ahead with Bridgestone Turanza 6i 235/60R18 because it was simply the latest in terms of technology.

After narrowing down to Turaza 6i, I called up almost every tyre shop in Ernakulam. Since my wife hails from Alappuzha, I asked wife to mobilise her contacts of Alappuzha. I finally got the most competitive rates at Alappuzha and got them fitted.

The first impressions were that the ride had become considerably quieter. Also, the harshness levels also dipped considerably. I waited to push these tyres more. The Turanza 6i, unlike the Ecopia ample had grip. While using the Ecopia, I could at times hear the tyres screaming for grip while executing fast turns. But the Turanza 6i were gripping onto the road without any drama. I have noticed that the screeching noises from my tyres had significantly reduced during my trips to Munnar. I had a Hyderabad trip coming up. So I thought it would be the perfect to review it during the Hyderabad trip.

On long drives, I prefer to engage the cruise control and set the cruise at a comfortable 85 kmph and relax. The drive to Bengaluru was therefore extremely relaxing and I was getting a good average fuel economy in the cluster. The onward journey from Hyderabad was a little time bound as we had to reach Hyderabad by 6pm and we had started a little late from Bengaluru. So there was
a considerable bit of pedal to metal driving. And there was absolutely no drama. The car was gripping onto the road really well.

But I was really impressed with my tyres on the way back. There was a heavy downpour and we were again time bound. So we had to continue doing triple digit speeds. And I wouldn't have dared doing those speeds in the rain had it been my old set of tyres. The Turanza 6I was amazing in the wet. There was zero drama and a lot of grip.
On the return journey from Bengaluru to Kochi, the cruise was set at 85kmph and we were maintaining that speed for a good while. There was little to no noise from the tyres. And I was able to get an average feel economy of 21 kmpl on my MID.

Now coming to the cons, one major issue that I face is stones getting stack between the threads. Every week, I set out with a flat screw driver to pluck them off from between the threads. Also, in these 5000kms that I have used these tyres, I have had a torn sidewall on one of my tyres. This was actually completely due to my oversight. The silver lining is that it was covered under the
unconditional warranty and I got it replaced in two days. The replacement experience was just okay as the dealer didn't have the specific size and I had to go to the warehouse. Then there was a system issue of the warehouse which could not be rectified due to Diwali. So the whole process wasn't completely smooth.

Overall, my experience with the Tirana 6i is good. No complaints so far. I would like to try on the Continental Conte Sport Contact6 which is yet to be released in the market for an effective comparison. I was considering the Conte Sport contact 5, but I did not go for it because it was a generation older than the Turanza 6i. But I’ve got Conti UC 6 on my Ignis and Etios and they’ve been performing really well.

I have installed Turanza 6i tyres on both of my cars: a Seltos and an Ignis.

The Ignis is primarily used for city driving, while the Seltos is used for highway trips. I am impressed with the performance of the tyres so far.

I have driven approximately 10,000 km on the Seltos and around 3,000 km on the Ignis with the Turanza 6i tyres.

While it's true that some stones can get stuck between the treads, it is not a concern for me at all.

I have extensively used Conti UC6 and Michelin Primacy 4ST on my previous cars, and I can confidently say that the Turanza 6i is in the same league.

Would you say that it's as quiet as the Primacy? Also, any punctures so far?

They are! I haven't encountered any punctures yet. I have also recently done a 1,800km road trip in my seltos.

No punctures so far. I used to get a lot during the last phase with my Ecopia. But after I’ve changed to Turanza, none so far.

Re: Bridgestone launches Turanza 6i

Planning to buy replacement tyres for my 2012 Honda Jazz.
Is Turanza 185/65 R15 a good option?

P.S: The first set of tyres (fitted by the OEM) were Michelin 175/65 R15.

How does the Turanza compare with Michelin?

I currently have Turanza 6i tyres installed on my two cars: a Seltos facelift with tyre size 215/55 R18 and an Ignis with tyre size 175/65 R15.

I primarily use the Seltos for highway driving, while the Ignis is for city driving. So far, the Seltos have covered approximately 15,000 km on the Turanza 6i tyres, and the Ignis has completed around 4,000 km. Up to this point, I have only experienced one puncture on the Seltos due to poor road conditions en route to Pune from Nizamabad, particularly near the Telangana-Maharashtra border.

In my opinion, the Turanza 6i tyres are comparable to Michelin tyres.

Re: Bridgestone launches Turanza 6i

So this thread has come in the nick of time I guess as my current 205/50/R16 Michelin PS4s on my Polo are due for a change.

Other than the Yokohama Earth 1 there are no other brands having the 205/50/R16 spec. On checking the Bridgestone website, the Turanza 6i come in this spec which is a blessing. The question is whether it would be a good substitute to the PS4 and better than the Yokos?

Please share your thoughts

Re: Bridgestone launches Turanza 6i

So I replaced the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s on my VW Polo 1.6 MPI with the Bridgestone Turanza 6i today.

Drove around 10 kms in the city and there is a huge difference in the ride.
- Steering is much more lighter than before.
- Vibrations in the car have been drastically reduced.
- Bumps are felt much lesser than before.
- Car feels much quieter and smoother to drive.

Even though the Bridgestones are comfort oriented, I believe my PS4s had worn out to a large extent and become hard as well which made the new tyres feel extremely different. I still have to to throw the car around to check the handling of these tyres in wet and dry conditions.

Re: Bridgestone launches Turanza 6i

Went looking for Continental UC6 for my i20(185/65 R15). The dealer showed Turanza 6I and claimed them to be in the same league as Michellin XM2+. The price difference between the 2, 5800 for UC6 and 7500 for 6I makes me question if the premium is worth it and if Turanza is better than UC6. Currently I'm running OEM Bridgestone Ecopia which have done 60K and one of them has a swollen sidewall, so a change is due.

As I understand, the UC6 is a UHP (ultra high performance) tyre whereas the Bridgestone turanza is a premium touring tyre. The Turanza's competition is with the Michelin primacy, continental premium contact etc. whereas the uc6 would compete with Bridgestone potenza, Michelin Pilot sports, Goodyear eagle asymmetrics etc.

Personally for me, and considering your car, I prefer touring tires any day of the week. They provide far more than enough grip but the real advantage is that these tyres are oriented towards comfort. They are generally going to be softer, easily flexible with 2 hands when you see them at the store, and they'll have lower noise (Michelins are generally the ones with the lowest road noise).

UHP tyres advantage is in grip and sportiness. These things matter not to me because the speeds and curves at which these tyres would shine are those that I never touch. I drive fast but only on empty open controlled access expressways like the new Mumbai highway. On city roads considering our conditions I drive quite sedately. So for my use case, it's touring tires all the way.

To give you an example, my Audi A4 came installed with Hankook S1 ventus evo 2 UHP tires. These tyres are supposed to be among the quietest in the UHP category and have a speed rating of Y (300kmph, LOL). Recently I bought Michelin primacy SUV + tires for my jeep compass. Despite the Audi's superior NVH levels in general, the difference in tyre noise is immediately noticeable. I start hearing the tyre around the speed of 50 on the Audi and it only gets louder from there. On the other hand, you very faintly start to hear the michelins around 80 and below that it's almost as if you're not even moving on tires but floating in the air. Being an SUV tyre, its speed rating is H (160 kmph). Generally UHP tires like the UC6 will be rated Y (300) or W (270). If you actually ever manage to drive above 160, then yeah go for UHP tires. However, the vast majority of people in India, I assume, would enjoy any premium touring tire and the comfort it brings over any UHP tire and the additional grip and sportiness those bring. Remember, it's not as if touring tires from Bridgestone and Michelin etc are lacking in grip anyways.

Re: Bridgestone launches Turanza 6i

Got 4 Turanza 6I and have driven almost 200 km since. Now I don't know whether it is the new tire thing or the overall quality of the tire, but the ride is now more quiet and less bumpy. Something concurred by both my wife and my mother, who were with me in the car at the time.
