For me the difference in noise level is huge compared to JK tyres.. not sure about other brands... but the softer sidewalls of michelin would have definitely made it less noisy by far

Correction

The tyres I fitted were Turanza ER60
Got confused as the bill mentioned it incorrectly..
but as I selected Turanza, I rechecked
Got the bill corrected later
Cost me 14K for 5 of them

Hey guys!

This thread has been of gr8 help..recently bought a used 2000 Esteem VX (w/ PS) and had to change the tyres.

Even I have bought a set of Bridgestone Turanzas. Got the rims also replaced. Just drove around 1300 kms from Agra to Pune and I have nothing to complain about...the performance has been fantastic..the tyres noiseless and very comfortable..highly recommended!!

just a query..I noticed that the tyre sides are a little blue in color..is this normal??

185/60-13 isn't a correct upsize for Esteem. Go for 175/70-13.

Goodyear Ventura 185/60-13 costs 2.8K per tyre here. So i guess the price offered is good.

youll get speedo error and your ride will become worse. anyway i wouldnt take goodyears. i have had a bad experience with them on my getz. also if you look at the ratings on the internet goodyear is not rated well.

with 185/60 your GC woud reduce further, you would end up scraping the underbody on speedbrakers, especially with load.

put 14 inchers!

Why don't you think bout 14 inchers?! Last day I got an oppertunity to rip my dad's NHC fitted with tubeless 195/60/R14 Michelin's Energy XM1's. Literaly was throwing the car on the turns&curves and now wondering bout the drastic improvement of handling of the car! It handles amazingly well now! Neverever felt insecurity though I was maintaining 80+ thru the corners! WOW!! Upgrade into 14 inchers dude!

Nikki.
NHC comes with 14" and the suspension is tuned n designed for it. whereas the esteem comes with 13" high profile tyres and the stock suspension is not very capable of taking the 14" and willl make the ride really harsh.

Esteem - 155/80 R13 Or 175/70 R13

Need the guidance on the new tyre. I have Esteem 2005 Model. The tyres are MRF 155/80 R13 Tubeless. Recently one of my tyres got damaged and needs to be replaced.

As per the tyre dealers, the 155/80 R13 are out-dated now. And they recommend 175/70 R13. My car has run only 11000 kms, and the other tyres are in good condition.

My only concern was whether I should replace the damaged tyre (used as spare now) with 175/70 R13 or 155/80 R13.

If I buy 175/70 R13:
1. Then will I be able to use it with other 155/80 R13 tyres in case of one more tyre damage?
2. Since 155/80 R13 Tubeless tyres might not be available in the coming years, should I go in for 175/70 R13?

Mod's Note: Please search and use an existing thread on a topic rather than opening a new one on the same old topic.

Re: Tyres for Esteem

Delhi People.

I am shocked to see one of my tyres went flat on one portion.
So, I am looking to get my tyres changed.
What tyres would you recommend for the esteem. I am also looking for Alloy Wheels. An upgrade in the tire size to 14 should not disturb the handling, would it?
Also, Delhi is preferable, Gurgaon people are horrible to deal with.

Please suggest?
