Re: Bridgestone India launches Sturdo tyres, claims 29% longer life

I got the Bridgestone Sturdo tyres(size: 175/65/R14)(0623) for my 2018 Tata Tiago. It was earlier running on stock MRF ZVTV tyres which has covered 42500km. Tyres were in good shape and still have a healthy tread pattern left. The only reason to change is the tyres had gotten old and had visible small cracks. Also one of the tyres developed a strange circle patterns near side wall.

I Opted for the Bridgestone Sturdo tyres as the show room did not have Bridgestone B-290. Driven so far 300 km. Noise is less and ride is comfortable the difference is noticeable.

Re: Bridgestone India launches Sturdo tyres, claims 29% longer life

I'm Using a 2017 model Maruti Suzuki WagonR. It comes with stock Apollo Amazer 3G.
Now it's time to change the tyres.
I am confused between Bridgestone Sturdo and Continental UC6.
Sturdo is easily available, but Studo advertise 29% longer tyre life and they didn't mention anything about comfort and tyre noise.
I would like to know about the comfort and tyre noise of BS Sturdo, Users please share your experience on your Sturdo in terms of Comfort, Grip and Noise.
By giving preference to Comfort, Better dry&wet grip and Low road noise which will be the better choice? Conti UC6/CC6 or Bridgestone Sturdo?
Thanks

How much did each tyre cost you? And how's the tyre noise? I'm planning to get new tyres for my Grand i10(175/65 R14). Listed out four options till now:
1. Conti UC6
2. Yokohama Earth 1
3. BS Sturdo
4. Goodyear Assurance Triplemax

I am also confused between Conti UC6 & BS Sturdo for my WagonR. I eliminated Yoko Earth1 because, heard that Yoko have more noise and it's rubber get hard on long use and noise will further increase. Ended up on Conti UC6 & BS Sturdo. I can't finalize between these two .

Hi,
sorry for late reply.

I paid Rs. 5750/- for each tyre. Total 23,000/-
Wheel alignment :- 400
Wheel balancing :- 400
Nitrogen filling :- 100

Total I paid 23,900/-
Continental UC6 was around 6350/- which was around 600 more than BS so I opted BS Sturdo. After changing tyres the driving experience is better than stock MRF tyres.

I recently bought 4 Continental UC6(175/65 R14). Costed me 5700 per tyre after haggling with the tyre dealer for an entire week. Didn't get 5 tyres as I didn't want to spend more than 25000. One of the front Ceat Milaze X3s(165/65 R14) was shifted to the spare rim as it was in excellent condition. Looks like alignment is costly at your place. Cost per item are as follows:
1. 4 Conti UC6 :- 5700×4=22800
2. Alignment :- 200
3. Balancing :- 250
4. Air :- Free of cost
Total :- 23250

Covered 1500 kms till now. Tyre noise is almost nil. At speeds around 100, only the engine noise is audible. Grip levels are also excellent.

Confused between Continental UC6 and Bridgestone Sturdo.

Comfort.
Noise.
Avoid side burts, puncture & cuts due rough road.

Any suggestions!
Another fellow member asked the same, no answer to that question! Asking the same again.

Hi,
I have covered around 8000 kilometers with Bridgestone Sturdo, so far no issues of Side bursts or Puncture as you have mentioned. I have driven all types of roads including village mud and rough roads in Karnataka and Maharashtra. Two times I Covered 950 to 1000 kilometers of distance in 13 - 14 hours with 2 stops, no heating issue. The noise on road is minimum and ride is quite comfortable.

Recently went to check for available options similar to Michelin, was advised Sturdo over B250.

Got these installed, 4 tires 185/65/R15 for 25k including balancing and alignment.
The ride has become silent in comparison to 55k kms old Ceat Securadrive which were pathetic from the start (lot of noise and punctures).

Let's see how these perform and hold up!

Hello how is your experience been with BS Sturdo?
I am looking to change tires and considering below: (No specific sequence)

1. Conti UC6
2. Yokohama Earth 1
3. BS Sturdo

NOTE: Currently using Yoko Earth1 185/65 R15 on my Swift Zxi 2015.

Hey blackpanther13

Bridgestone Sturdo are holding well, not much noise, overall breaking is good as well.

But I would recommend you to check out Michelin PRIMACY 4 ST as well as these are now available which was not the case earlier. Price difference could be between 500-1000 per tire.

Another advantage Sturdo have is unconditional warranty that my dealer told.

You can check out Michelin Primacy 4ST as well as Continental UC6. Some BHPians are using the UC6s on their cars and are quite happy with their performance. Moreover, they are cheaper than the Michelins.

Re: Bridgestone India launches Sturdo tyres, claims 29% longer life

Replaced the stock Goodyear tyres (165/65/r14 profile) with BS Sturdo (same profile) and ensured all the 5 tyres were of 2024 make and thankfully all of them in April.
The cabin noise decreased significantly on city roads, will have to test them on Highways though. The brakes do not seem to bite a lot like they did on Goodyear maybe because of the deeper tread depth?
Total bill: 26,250.
Each tyre was 4950, free balancing. Replacing the plastic moulded valves with steel ones (250x5=1250) and during the wheel alignment the machine would ask to add some weights and they charged 250 for 90 grams of weight added...

Got the warranty certificate as well.

New tyres will perform worse than old tyres in braking due to the molding oils present on the surface. Once these scrub off after a couple of hundred kms you will get to know the true braking capabilities of the tyre. Until then, take it easy while braking
