Folks,
I tried searching but couldn't get a good thread on this. I want to know the pros and cons of using a Negative offset alloys. I am looking at -28 offset alloys would like to before i plonk them in.

Cheers!

I remember reading elsewhere that extensive negative offset can potentially cause increased steering wheel kick-back and place additional stresses on the vehicle's entire suspension.

Advantages are in this PDF. Page 3.

a -28 offset will give you SERIOUS handling issues unless you are bolting this on a kit car.

smaller turning circle, bump steer, and rubbing on the suspension is what you are most likely to experience.

DO NOT fit -ve offset wheels on your car unless you know what you are doing....... they are primarily used in drag cars because the only direction they will ever go is straight ahead! and that too extensive bodywork mods are done with modded flip suspension setups.

This is for my Jeep...I already have wider axle fitted...

I dont think -ve offset wheel will cause suspension to rub on tyre, -ve offset push the wheel out not in.

yeps...negative offset pushes wheel out. i've been tol that too.

yes if your wheels are pushed out.... they can rub against your fenders on bumpy roads. Unless you roll your fenders you will create some serious damage to the fender as well as the tyres.

There is constant additional stress on the wheel bearings, however how much of that actually hurts depends on the amount of the offset.

I have Toyota Innova Crysta as well as the older gen Innova. I have noticed a substantial amount of body roll in the Crysta compared to the old one which is rock stable. The old innva has mild negative offest alloys wheel making them stick out to about body width. Will the same modification be helpful in the Crysta to reduce the body roll?

What is the offset of a Gypsy Original Rim.
If 8j brazilian rim is used how much will the tyre poke out?
