Team-BHP - Alloys for Safari Dicor

Hi, please suggest if the average of the vehicle goes down with alloy wheels if we do not go for extra wide alloys. If I keep the tyre same 235/70/R16 and install the normal size alloys then what would be the affect on the average of the vehicle.
Which are the suggested alloys.

From Chandigarh and u need help on this :D just look around in your neighbourhood and ask for first hand experience !! Mileage will not drop if you go in for proper upsizing,look elsewhere on this forum for links on that.

If you are not getting extra wide tyres, the mileage can actually improve due to lesser rolling resistance(if you get better tyres) and lighter unsprung weight.
Go for an Indian brand like Aura and you will get warranty too.

Check out the HR alloys they have a design that looks similar to the one on the old pajero's they look damn neat when you fix it on a Safari. I've seen one Safari having this alloys in Bangalore which cost you less than 24K or less for 5 alloys

Navtej - If you install decent alloys with the stock tyres your FE will not go down. It might improve but the effect will be miniscule & in all probability will not be noticed by you. It will however dramatically improve the looks of your vehicle but please go in for decent quality alloys only and ensure correct PCD.

According michelin, I need to be between 7 to 9 for 255/65R16, 7.5 being most optimal. I want to avoid borderline values.

One question, I have noticed for SUV's the rim width is lesser even though the tyre width is more.

I am thinking 7.5J will be a tad too wide and will protrude out. You may have to do some metal cutting to prevent fouling.

Babureddy here had put on 7.5J rims but I'm not sure whether his offset was incorrect or it was just the 7.5J rims that resulted in teh fouling.

Samurai, it's an absolute must to have enough body on alloy surface. Especially for bigger car like Dicor. From Sai site, I like H169 for it's well spread body. I feel it'll look good in white body.

But of course it's my view only. You and your better half have that final say.
