99% of cars use TR414 valve.

Most bikes use TR412 valve

I beg to differ. In Maruti alone, TR413 valve is used by cars like Alto K10, WagonR etc. Depends a lot on the rim design. I wouldn't get a TR414 based on that assumption alone.

Yeah! That's why is said 99% and not 100%

Also, TR414 can be used in place of TR413 without an issue.

Been trying to get a set of GOODYEAR TRIPLEMAX for my swift but most tyre shops don't have any stock of GOODYEAR. Even the shops sporting the Goodyear logo on their signboards are telling me to go with Apollo or Bridgestone or some other brand since there's too many complaints with Goodyear tyres since the last year or so. They claim many of their tyres have been returned by customers and the company isn't honouring the warranty claims.

I'm confused since I'm already using Goodyear and had a good experience so wanted to stick to that.

Can anyone confirm if Goodyear quality is going downhill and warranty claims aren't being honoured any more?

Asked my dealer friend, even he isn't aware of any such news.

May be the shops you visited don't stock Goodyears anymore, hence these stories.

Yup, looks like it was just a case of disgruntled dealers. I did install the Goodyears and they�re performing well. In fact the new triplemax series seems to be quieter than the previous one. Satisfies my needs for now.

There are no problems with Goodyear tyres. No sensible company will honour warranty claims on damaged tyres. Most do consider some "goodwill" and give a discount on the replacement tyre.

The tyre market is very dynamic. If Apollo or some other brand has launched a new scheme, dealers will try to push that brand. Just go back to the same Goodyear dealers when Goodyear has some internal scheme and see how the dealer will praise Goodyear!

Was actually hoping you would have replied a tad earlier when I was buying the tyres. Anyways, I took a leap of faith and bought them a few months ago. No cause for complaint yet.

Oh by the way, the warranty from Goodyear is unconditional. The dealer has promised to honour the warranty even for damaged tyres. Hope I never have to take him up on that though.

I need to change all 4 tyres of my Honda WRV. In My experience right from Santro Days, somehow MRF lasted longer and Bridgestone/Michelin had lesser life. Honda recommends only 4 brands Michelin,Bridgestone,MRF and Goodyear and dealer favours Bridgestone/Michelin.
Please advice whether I can go for Goodyear / MRF or to stick onto Michelin /bridgestone.

Any hard rubber tire will last longer, but at the cost of grip levels. I am pretty satisfied with Goodyear tires on both my cars. If you want something more premium and at higher cost, you can go for Michelin, which has good grip and comfort; but for me, Bridgstone/ Goodyear are very good tires and offer great value for money. Also, you can expect BS/GY to last a little longer than a Michelin since they are medium compound rubbers as compared to the softer compounds of Michelin.

Quoting myself from another thread. I have a bone to pick with GY Assurance Triplemax tyres 205/65R16 95H manufactured in 2017. These tyres came with my car as OEM fitting and even though I have found their grip levels and noise satisfactory, the continuous niggles is killing the goodwill. I say this because recently I was on the NH66 from Kochi to Palaghat and after Kuthiran tunnels there are sweeping curves on the 3 lane sections where water logging is present during monsoons and I was doing around 85-90 kmph when I hit one of those puddles just after a curve. All four tyres were in water but surprisingly the car kept a straight line and punched through, I was expecting hydroplaning but I was blessed with grip and traction. So I'm not blaming the capabilities of this tyres. I only have problem with the manufacturing defects.

Has anyone else faced issues of sidewall bulge with GY Assurance Triplemax 205/65R16 tyres.
