No, I've decided to stick to the original Bridgestones. 13k done and counting, no issues. Thanks for boosting my confidence a little more in these tyres.

How good are MRF tyres?
The dealer was all GAGAGAG about it,and he was rating it higher than Geolanders(he had yoko's even).
The tyre he showed was a ZVRL 245\70\R16

Has anyone tried MRF Wanderer's? I am planning a change as the current JK Elanzo's seem to be at their worst after 38K's. Now, I am more inclined towards Yoko Geolander A/T 255/65 16 which are priced at somewhere around 9.*K per tyre, whereas the same size in Wanderer costs about 6.5K. So the huge price difference is making me think about MRF's which seems to be VFM.

@akshay: Are you sure 6.5k is for 255/65 Yoko's, I think it should be for 235/70 size. And, if by any chance 6.5k is for the Yoko's 255, than MRF's doesnt make any sense at all.

@pradeep: I will consider the Hawkz RT for my next change. I feel it has the best tread pattern amongst the Indian tires.

@akshay: Hawkz RT is available in 255 size. I suggest you take a look at this before finalizing on the MRF or Yoko. The tread pattern is better suited for AT than the MRF Wanderer.

Pradeep,

Congrats! Just to say that any tyre is better than JK Elanzo's. They are just HORRIBLE!

My first Scorpio SLX had JK Elanzos' and had to replace them at 36k!!!! for bad handling and wear. I do Tyre balancing, alignment & rotation every 5k.

The current Scorpio, I went to the yard and picked a black VLX with Bridgestones. I am at 36k and am sure the tyres will last another 20k minimum and the ride is way far superior that JKs!!

AFAIK it was for 255's as dealer had said that they dont get stock size Yoko's as people generally look for 255 size.

ScorpMan --- The MRF Wanderers are actually excellent tyres! They are really silent, comfortable and grip really well.

However, while the Geolandars are decent off road, the Wanderers are not as good off road. But on road, they are as good as the Geolandars.

@akshay: I am based in Delhi

@Nikhil: If you could throw some light on the pricing, it would clear the confusion. I was given a quote of Rs.9.*K for Yoko 255/65 n Rs.6.5K for Wanderers same size. Is that ok? Also, what do you think about the upsize, would it fit in without any modifications ?

roflmao!!!

The Yokos should be around 6.9k and the Wanderers should be around 6.2-6.5k.

The Yoko price is totally insane.

Thanks Nikhil. With such a small price difference I guess Yoko's make more sense, what do you say? Also, let me know the suitability of this upsize. Should I go for 255's or stick to the original size.

What are the negatives if one goes for an upsize?
