Team-BHP - MRF ZLX Tyres

MRF has launched a new tyre called ZLX, and it's available in 12", 13" and 14" sizes:

Their website lists the available sizes as:

• 145/80R12

• 155/65R13

• 155/70R13

• 155/80R13

• 155/70R14

• 165/80R14

It looks like they are targeting a variety of hatchbacks with this range. MRF are stressing on the comfort factor in their ZLX advertisement:

Is this MRF's response to the Apollo Amazer 4G? [link to thread] If it is, then I welcome the ZLX warmly. It's good to have more choices for those who want comfortable tyres that aren't too expensive in these sizes.

P.S.: Surprisingly, their advertisement features a Volkswagen Polo, but the website does not yet list the size for the Polo (either stock or upsize). :D

Only in the 205/55/R15, for now. From what I heard prices are slightly more than the ZLO.

Got MRF ZLX Tyres for i10. Didn't upgrade instead opted for stock size 155/80/R13 as my i10 has 4j Wheels. Paid 2900 per tyre and Got 3700 for the 4 tyres. 7900 bucks in total.
First Impressions:
Good Grip levels, Very Low Tyre Noise as compared to earlier Bridgestone B250.
This is the first time I experienced such performance from a tyre by MRF.
The comfortness factor isn't just a marketing gimic by MRF.

Anyone who is using ZLX 165 80R14. I am planning to change my Ritz's tires. Stock ones JK Tornado 165 80 R14 are nearly 3 years and 55000 KM old, with close to 15K on highways. Though some tread is still left, I am thinking of changing to the MRF ZLX. My confusion is if around the same price range any other brand is good to go for.
Any feedback would be helpful in deciding. Thanks in advance.

I went ahead with 165 80 R14 ZLX for my Ritz. 2850 per tyre from Authorized MRF outlet. Wheel Allignment and Balancing costed me 450 bucks more. Steering feels really good now, did not drive for long so can't say about the performance.
Will update on that.

I'm planning to change my Swift tires to MRF ZLX. Stock tires are MRF ZV2K and completed 66000 kms in 3 years. I'm happy with the stock tire performance,so decided to go for latest MRF tire i.e ZLX.

During my research, I heard few good reviews about Yokohama Earth.
Any one using/used Yokohama Earth ? How is the tire performance ?

I took a leap of faith and ordered 4 tyres through MRF website. The prices are much lesser on the website compared to what it is on the stores where I will be getting the installation done. Including alignment, balancing and fitting it comes to around 2896 per tyre, and the shops were quoting around 3200 per tyre.

We have these on our zen in 12 inch rim size for the past 8K kms. Very impressed with the tyres. The dry and wet grip are pretty good . Noise is well controlled and are very silent on tarmac. However , they are pretty noisy on concrete surface

I have Yoko A drives and they make a racket on concrete roads, so probably that's something I will probably be OK to live with.

I got them installed on my Dzire on Saturday. I guess they are still in their run in period and will wait for around 200kms before i provide a review. They do look premium and their thread pattern is very similar to what I had in the A drives.

Bought 4 tyres for my Ritz in stock size @Rs 2725/- per tyre (165/80 R14) from Mrf authorized shop. Dealer was quoting 3200/- per tyre. Showed him the price on MRF tyre and service website and told him to match it. For 4 tyres and immediate sale, he immediately agreed. Well, as fellow bhpian dass said it - it was a leap of faith for me too.
Initial impressions - the bumps are totally gone. As is the body roll on speed breakers. These are certainly designed for comfort. Grip and breaking are right up there. This is unlike any other MRF tyre I have experienced. However, rolling resistance also seems high and could possibly effect mileage marginally. These tyres certainly match Michelins XM2 on comfort, but don't glide like Michelins. I understand from another review I had read that things improve after the initial 250 kms or so and the mileage bounces back.
So far quite pleased with the purchase. This seems like money well spent.

Any reviews how are the tyres holding up for those who bought ZLX?

I am getting quote of 2500/tyre for my WagonR, 155/65/r13.

Should I get these or get the Yokohama or Bridgestone?

Yokos are at 3250/tyre appprox. The only deterrent for the ZLX is the relatively cheap price point. I really hope these are not like the horrible JKs which I currently have.

MRF's quality is something that is on par with the best. So, you dont have to worry about the tyre failing you.

Yokohama Earth 1 is good as well, but worth a 30% premium? I have my doubts. If you do a lot of highway high speed driving, the softer compound of the Yokohama may be better, but in 95% of cases, the MRF will suit your requirement.
