You should definitely opt for 195/60 R15 tyres, irrespective of the brand. As has been advised in this thread, the OEM tyres provided by Honda are too skinny for the car and an upgrade to 195s is recommended.

I'm in a similar boat to you. My Jazz will complete 40K soon and it will be due for a tyre change in the next couple months or so. I was contemplating switching to Michelin P4ST but they are obviously hard to find.

I have narrowed my options to MRF Perfinzas and Continental UC6 as I'm looking for softer compound tyres. Yokos are harder compound and I don't prefer them.

I can't help you on places to buy in Bangalore, maybe the Team-BHP directory may be of some help. For a general idea on the prices, you can browse https://www.tyremarket.com/Car-Tyres

Do check Madhu’s in Wilson Garden - there’s an entire thread dedicated to BHPians’ experiences there - link (Madhus Tyre Centre - Wilson Garden, Bangalore)

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Current Honda Jazz’s alloy wheel specification is 100PCD / 5.5J / 15 inch. Can everyone share ET and load rating of the same.

Thanks in advance!

It is ET45. Also wheels don’t have a load rating, tyres do - the OEM tyre size 175/65R15 have a load rating of 84 which corresponds to 500 kg max at 36 PSI. Hope this helps

Thanks.

Alloys do have load rating. Similar to tyres. Based on the kerb weight of the car, alloys are to be selected referring to the load rating.

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Just upgraded the stock 175/65 R15 MRF Tyres to 195/60 Conti UC6s. Wanted to try MRF Perfinzas but unfortunately could not upgrade due to lack of new stock with the dealers.

Too early to comment on the ride but seems very smooth and low on noise. The increase in the weight of the steering is also very negligible.

One doubt I had was regarding the spare wheel. I have ordered a 15 inch rim to replace the 14 inch space saver. I read through Chetan BG's thread on his new Jazz and he commented that 185 section tyres may not fit in the boot.

Would 175/65 R15 be the correct choice or would it be too much of a difference between the main 4 tyres? I don't plan on doing a 5 tyre rotation and hence looking for a cheaper option for the 5th tyre, which would be good enough for the emergencies.

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

I am buying a used Honda Jazz CVT 2015 model, 39k run with OEM tyres. The tires have worn out completely and will need a change in some time. I am planning to upgrade from the OEM tyre size 175/65 to 195/60 as suggested by many people in the forum. The catch is, that I am getting a 1-year warranty (Gold- On Engine and Transmission) through Honda Auto Terrace, since it's a Honda Certified used car. If I upgrade the Tyres now, would it create issues in the Warranty? Would an upgrade in tyre size be suggested?

What are the best tyres for both sizes 195/60 and 175/65?

I'd personally go for the 195/60 UC6 better grip and silent ride!

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Posting here because I couldn't find a dedicated thread for Honda Mobilio.

I am about to replace the OEM tyres on my Mobilio i-VTEC. Wheels are metal, not alloy.
The original tyres are Bridgestone 185/65 R15 88H tubeless that have done 47500 kilometers. The car did 35000 in the initial 8 years till I bought it in 2022.

Is there any suggestion on brand and/or size?
My use is going to be mostly in city and occasional long drives (of around 350-500 kilometers) once in two months.

Also any suggestions for any specific tyre shop to go in Pondicherry?
I've relocated here a week ago.

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Hello BHPians,

I wanted to thank all of you for your inputs that helped me choose new tyres for my Jazz. I had read through the thread for the different suggestions and that helped me narrow down on the options.

I had Michelin XM2+, Conti UC6 and MRF Perfinza in mind. Michelin new stock was hard to find. Between Conti and MRF, the MRFs seemed better. The stock size tyres I had were Michelin but had started showing some cracks although they still had a good amount of tread left. The ride quality was still very good. I am a pretty new driver so still learning the finer nuances of ride quality and noise. But the cracks nudged me to go for the change. I earlier thought of sticking to the stock size but reading through the thread I decided to upscale the size.

So I upsized from stock sized Michelins to MRF Perfinza 195/60 R15. I have driven them for almost a year now and felt that the wider tyres do give a better grip.
PS. I had changed the tyres in Dec last year and have just recently made myself an account with TeamBHP . So wanted to share my appreciation for all the information shared by all of you.

Here are some pics of the Perfinzas on the Jazz -

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Just got my Jazz's shoes upsized to Yokohama Blue earth GT AE51, 195/60 R15.

Initial impressions:
  • The Tyres are super silent.
  • No major difference as steering being heavy.
  • Yet to see the difference in mileage. Will post soon.
  • Couldn't judge on the grip yet as it's been driven in the city. Planning a highway drove soon.

Can anyone help with the ideal tyre pressure? I use nitrogen.
The dealer informed me to keep 32 to 33 all around. 33 was not very comfortable and I reduced to 32.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

The stock rear tyres on my Jazz have about 5-6 punctures each, with majority being on the sidewall due to over inflation at a fuel pump near me. The ASC even refused to rotate the tyres due to the high number of punctures. The car is mostly driven by the wife in the city with monthly running of about 5k kms with almost no long route trips and the car has run a total of 17k kms.
I would like to know should I replace the tyres? I just took a trip from Gurgaon to Chandigarh with the car reaching 120 kmph at some stretches and didn't notice any issues with the tyres as such.
