Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists - India

Hello Folks,

Came across this website specifically for the repairs of Alloy wheels of any make and models.

The website is : Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists of India | Home which looks very professional with detailed information.

Recently they have started a facility in Feb 2012 at Thane, Mumbai.

They claim to repair 75,000 alloy rims worldwide / month!!

Has anyone heard of them and used their services? Would be helpful for our community to maintain those beautiful alloys spick and span.

Re: Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists - India

Thats fantastic info! Thanks..

Hope they open up a shop up north as well. Although I have had a good experience with alloy repairing in Delhi with the repaired alloy still running strong after 30k kms. But more professional options are always welcome.

Called him up yesterday regarding repainting alloys. He said each wheel would be 6.5k for my BMW. A bit pricey IMO.

Re: Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists - India

Sent him an email yesterday regarding refinishing of my alloys, attached a picture for reference too.
Got a reply saying each wheel would cost Rs.6875. Again I think its too much for alloys, they may be an international franchisee but I would certainly not pay soo much for repainting. If any one can suggest a cheaper alternative please do let me know.

That's not over-priced, that's highway robbery! Has this dude lost his marbles? I've seen "good" repainting jobs for Rs. 1,000 a wheel in Mumbai, and an "excellent" wheel painting job for Rs. 2,000 a wheel. 6.5K for painting or 6.9L for refinishing is ridiculous. Well, good luck to him & his business.

These are kind anodized or powder coated right? Not normal painting.

I have shared it in one of the alloy repairing threads. Let me open up a thread in the Delhi-NCR Directory. Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists - India

just to add here , i got all 5 wheels of my Corolla refinished for 5k 2 years back as part of the car's restoration.

It is a labour and time consuming process ; 1.5-2.0 k per wheel is a fair price.

I was charged 1000 per wheel at Mazda Motors who are considered one of the best in the country. The wheels have run over 30k kms since and look new.

I think repainting and finishing will always be cheaper at a local paint specialist, I'd use AWRS service only for structural repairs. Although I am skeptical if such damages can be repaired and yet be reliable.

Re: Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists - India

hi gaaij,
emailed the AWRS guys to get a quote for my punto alloys.
they got back saying it would be 3500 bucks a wheel just to true it up. If it is four wheels then i may as well go in for aftermarket alloys after shelling out a couple of thousand bucks and while i am at that, also upsize as i like.
Mailed them back to enquire whether they would negotiate but no luck there.
if i take it real slow and do a DIY job and get everything almost perfect, it wouldnt cost me anything more than 1500 bucks a wheel.
I guess the guys are more interested in earning a fast buck than getting volumes in business.
To each his own.
Drive safe gaaij, always wear a seatbelt!

Re: Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists - India

Hi All,

This might be off-topic, but related to Wheel Repair so posting here.

I went over a huge pothole at a cosiderable speed, it resulted in a big bent on both front & rear Steel Rims. Rims are fitted with tubeless tyres so they are losing air when car is stationary.
Is it advisable to repair rims and any repair centre for it in pune. Whether its done on Lathe or just they use Hammer ?

Please suggest.

Regards,

Re: Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists - India

I believe their services are going to be worthy only for Premium 18"-20" Alloys like BBS etc, anything else will be an overkill. The Alloy repair guy in our city charges 1.5K per alloy that includes removal of a bend if any, repainting and balancing.

Re: Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists - India

Hi guys, can anyone point me to a trusted alloy repair shop (only for scuffs and paint) in Delhi or Gurgaon please as I can't seem to find this anywhere on the site.
Thanks a bunch.
