Tyres/Wheels for Swift Vxi - Help

I am getting the tyres/wheels replaced on a brand new Swift Vxi. The price quoted for the Potenza GIII is 2.8k and for the Michelin Certis is 3.2k. Is this a good price or would I get a better deal? Are there any other tyres that I should be looking at? (Performance and Comfort) (185/70/14). The dealer has quoted a price of 900/stock tyre.

For the alloys, I have shortlisted two out of the lot. One is with 5 spokes and one with 7 spokes (pretty simple design). The company name was something like HR (written in blue in the center of the rim). There's a guarantee of 1 year. The price is around 13.5k for a set of 4. Is there anything particular i should look for while getting the alloys for the swift? Any ideas as which designs looks good on the swift?

Awaiting all your valuable suggestions.

Thanks

@psynaps3 : Potenza's are quoted ok .... Michelin i dunno. But the price of Rs 900 for the stock tyre is less u shud get 1000Rs or 1200Rs as the car is brand new. Since u are changing the tyres and alloys try 15" or 16" with low profile rubber

What are the advantages/disadvantages of going to 15"? The dealer had suggested that I get 195/60/15, but I need to know how this is going to affect the performance/comfort/safety/FE.

Thanks

i've put 195/60/15's on my swift. grip is fantastic. suspension is not compromised because of this upsize. works quite well.

the least quote i got in kochi was 10k for potenza g3 and 13k for Eagle f1 G3. 13.5k for a set of HR alloys seems reasonable to me.

i am amazed tody a by the difference in price quote by two top tyre retailers in kochi, ie. global and pit stop

i was looking for 185/60 r14 in either goodyear eagle F1 or michelin pilot sport

pilot sport was not in stock but the price both of them gave for a set of 4 Eagle f1 was

10.8k by global tyres

13k by pit stop both with one year replacement waranty

global is known for there good assortmet of michelin tyres and pit stop for goodyear and bridgestone

but i dont quiet understand this price deviation ????

can any one help me in getting what is the best price for Eagle F1 (185/60/R14)??

cool alloys man, which one is it? and where did you get it from?

185/70 R14 is technically the best upsize for swift considering the FE and Handeling

But it would have looked much better if it were 195/60 R14

but over all a wise decision

Its written Plati. Imported ones. Got them from New Bharath Tyres. Cost around 15.5k for 4. Was a bit on the higher side

Ideal tyre pressure

Hi,

What should be the ideal tyre pressure for
1. Swift VXI. Tyres are Bridgestone Potenza GIII 185/70/14. Right now, I am maintaining 27 psi.
2. Opel Corsa 1.4 (Stock tyres)

TIA

For the Swift the company recommended is about 28 psi and for the corsa I think it is 30psi.

swift is one of the few cars which can be fitted with so many upsize tyres.....n the tyres remain in line with the car most of the cases....starting from the stock size of 185/70R14 ....195/65R14 ......205/60R14........195/60R15....215/55R15.......205/45R16.....and even 17inch tyres can be tried......
the best bet would be 185/70R14 or 195/65R14 considering comfort, required traction levels, effect on suspension parts and value.........ground clearance will be compromised in case of 195/60R14.
As of tyre pressure ...keep the same pressure for Swift as recommended on the front doors 165/80R14...185/70R14...or any 15 inch option as well.
stock size of Opel corsa can have 29psi.
